Nice STAY. Old pots and pans in new kitchen. Could have used a desk/chair somewhere for people who need to work remote during vacation( just a mention). Not a fan of homes under construction (downstairs floor under construction. For the money spent, this should have been noted before we booked.I was a bit disappointed as we paid about top dollar for available rentals (there were many avail at this time). Makes you feel like your in some temporary work site and not a vacation rental costing .Second stay in Banner elk and there is a serious lack of upkeep on expensive rental homes in the area. I noted this at several rental properties I checked out while in town.

Location to restaurants and other things to do is exceptional, centrally located to everything we want to do. Beautifully decorated throughout, you can tell the owners took great care in the renovations and decor. Perfect for our family. If I have to make a couple of recommendations would be: a larger quality Frying pan or electric skillet; the kitchen knives need to be upgraded; lighting in the master bath over the mirror, needs to be brighter. All in all it was perfect!! We will definitely return to that location!

Convenient location and cutely decorated however it was less than clean when we arrived. One bathroom appeared to have not been cleaned at all. 2 of the 3 bedrooms had so much hair on the linens one of my children chose to sleep on the couch instead. After contacting the property manager I was advised someone would be sent out to “inspect”. No one ever showed and they never followed up.

DO NOT RENT FROM RESORT REAL ESTATE AND RESORT. DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE in the SUMMER. The description is deceptive! There is not air conditioning in all of this house. There is a portable A/C unit(pictured below) to cool the expansive den and kitchen and one window unit for the master bedroom. The other two bedrooms have NO A/C. The worst was when I called Resort Real Estate, the lady who answered the main phone was rude and totally was trying to gaslight me. She tried to argue that the house did have A/C but when I told her that the 2 bedrooms did not, all she said was,"well, were you uncomfortable last night?" Not the point and totally an attempt to redirect. Both her and another employee told me they would speak to management about some sort of partial refund but I've never heard anything. They are truly deceptive and dishonest in my opinion. I used them once before and they cancelled on me for no reason a few weeks before my trip and offered no alternatives. I should have never given them a second chance.... If you are the owner of this house and reading this, you have a nice house. Find another management company! If they are dishonest with customers, they will be dishonest with you!

Sugar Mountain Getaway

Wonderful spot just up the mountain. Close to skiing entrance and also to restaurants, grocery store, etc. Cozy fireplace to warm you after a day of skiing. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful area

We really enjoyed our stay at this property - especially feeding and watching all the woodland creatures! Several deer, a woodchuck, some squirrels, and who knows how many little chipmunks!

A Gem Amongst the Trees

This mountain house is a treasure trove of beautiful things. Everywhere you turn there is something wonderful. Perfect location. Our family of 5 fit perfectly. The only draw back was no dressers and/or luggage rack for our suitcases and clothes especially in the master bedroom. The bedrooms could use brighter light bulbs. We stayed a week and had a great time.

Weekend getaway

The location of the house was great and property was beautiful inside and out. It was close to other properties, but still felt private. We originally intended to do some skiing/snowboarding for the last time this season. Due to warmer weather we changed our plans. There was still plenty to do in the area. The check-in process with the property management was different than other Vrbo properties I’ve stayed. You need to collect and return key from an office, but the office was nearby.

Great mountain retreat

We had an awesome time staying at this property. Very clean and well kept house. Close to some good hikes and waterfalls. Grandfather mountain state park is also close, we had a great time there. The decor in the house was classic mountain cabin, artwork etc, down to the taxidermy goose flock! Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms were all clean. Kitchen is modern and spacious. We enjoyed staying here!

Convenient and clean property!

Property was very clean and conveniently located to Sugar Mountain and Grandfather Mountain! Checking in and out with property management company does add extra steps but it is conveniently located so you don’t have to travel too far out of the way.

mountain home

This home is nicely decorated with lots of charm and is in a convenient location. I understand that it is fairly new to the rental program. It lacks some practical features that would make it perfect; such as hooks and/ or hangers for snow clothes/ coats, etc. The bedroom TVs only allow for streaming from one's phone which was fine, but I had to call management for directions. Also, the mirror in the master bathroom is a beautiful antique mirror, but it is tinted which made hard to apply my make up properly. Those things aside, we had a great time and would rent it again.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The pictures don’t do it justice. Farmhouse chic decor with nice amenities and super comfortable beds. Perfect size and location to take 2 teenagers for a weekend snowboarding trip.
