A never-ending display of rugged coastline and open farmland surround this County Mayo property to make it an extremely undistributed rural retreat. Mountains, open wilderness and incredible beaches are all within reach, allowing up to seven guests to experience an outdoor adventurerâs getaway to remember in West Ireland. Providing spaciousness, style and comfort set out across two storeys, this cottage makes a delightful base to come home to at each dayâs end. Itâs also dog friendly for those planning to hike, bike or sightsee with manâs best friend at their side.
Neutral colouring and natural light make this four-bedroom house a real blank canvas for memory-making as a group of family or friends. A capacious kitchen/diner invites sociable evenings on the ground floor, perfect for raising a glass over a celebratory meal or simply refuelling for further adventures ahead. You can also sit outdoors to eat, making use of the pretty garden thatâs partly enclosed and entirely private. Back indoors, a wood burner invites cosy evenings of relaxation before bed and all four bedrooms are positioned across the ground and first floors. Finally, find a family bathroom on each floor and an additional en-suite, ensuring thereâs minimal queuing for the shower or bath when returning home from a muddy trek.
The property is situated on the famed Wild Atlantic Way, a wide stretch of Ireland famous for its incredible sights and surfing. Take in some of these views as you traverse the Claggan Mountain Coastal Trail (8 miles) leading into the Wild Nephin National Park (4 miles), a 15,000-hectare area filled with undisturbed grassland, heaths and lakes and a vast habitat of exciting wildlife. In the summer, visit the splendidly sandy Murrivaugh Beach (14 miles) and dare yourself to take a dip in the Atlantic or try your hand at windsurfing.
