The Expansive Living Room An open, flowing space that honors its historic roots with original narrow-plank hardwood floors and deep wood trim.

The Character Kitchen
A nostalgic, fully equipped space featuring exposed chimney brick and original shelving. Stand at the double sink by the east-facing window to watch the sunrise over the museum pond.
The Coffee Ritual: Equipped with a grinder, fresh coffee beans, French press, Nespresso machine (bring your preferred pods), and a milk frother.
Heritage Charm Note: Features a classic white coiled-burner stove, no dishwasher, and the main light switch is at the end of the kitchen.

3-Min Walk: The waterfront boardwalk, The Freight Shed restaurant, cafes, bakeries, grocery stores, and banks.
Next Door: The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. Stroll their paved hills and wind through open green spaces overlooking Baddeck Bay and the Bras d’Or Lake. It’s an especially peaceful spot for morning coffee walks, sunset strolls, open grassy hills, and lookout points over the lake
9-Min Walk: Victoria County Memorial Hospital and the pharmacy.
Cabot Trail Basecamp: Located at the start and end of the trail. Just 1 hour and 15 minutes to Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Comfort, Logistics & Community Care
Building Setup & Consideration: This home is the grand, private 2-story main portion of a historic property that also contains 2 separate, completely private guest suites with their own entrances. Because this is a heritage building, sound can occasionally travel between the walls. We kindly ask our guests to be mindful of footwear, walking levels, and volume so everyone in the building can enjoy a restful stay. (Traveling with a larger group? All three listings can be booked together at a discount if available).
Connectivity: We have reliable Wi-Fi throughout the entire home (speeds up to 50 Mbps), perfect for streaming your favorite shows, checking emails, and standard remote work.
Arrival & Parking: Accessed via a sloped driveway. Guests have a dedicated grass parking area on the museum side of the property.
Laundry: There is no laundry equipment inside the home. A local laundromat is a short walk away in the village.
Cooling/Heating: Baseboard heating throughout; plenty of large windows to catch the coastal cross-breezes. Fans are provided for warmer summer days.

The Waterfront & Dining (3-Min Walk): Walk down the hill to the iconic waterfront boardwalk, unique artisan shops, grocery store, occasional summer farmers market, local bakeries, banks, and The Freight Shed restaurant right on the dock. Stop by the High Wheeler Cafe to grab a packed lunch box before your day trips, or enjoy an evening drink on the deck at the Baddeck Yacht Club.
Culture & Music (Next Door): We are located right beside the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. Stroll their beautiful, paved hills and wind through open green spaces overlooking Baddeck Bay and the Bras d’Or Lake right from your front yard—an exceptionally peaceful spot for morning coffee walks or sunset strolls. Theater Baddeck, local nightly ceilidhs, and live community music halls are all within an easy 3-block walk.
Essentials (9-Min Walk): An easy walk to the Victoria County Memorial Hospital and the local pharmacy.
The Ultimate Cabot Trail Basecamp: Located at the literal `beginning and end` of the Cabot Trail. You are just an hour and 15 minutes from the breathtaking Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and perfectly central for day trips to Uisge Bàn Falls, Fortress Louisbourg, the Highland Village, the Acadian Village of Cheticamp, or Celtic Colours adventures. You’re also within a short drive of many fantastic sandy beaches on the island!
Seasonal Highlights: We are perfectly situated for those visiting Cape Breton for Baddeck Regatta Week in the summer or the world-famous Celtic Colours International Music Festival in the autumn.
- No smoking or vaping of any substances in units or building. There will be a charge of $1000 or more to cover the cost of cleaning to remove the odor.
- Not suitable for pets, $500 penalty for unauthorized pets in the unit.
- Noise is to be kept to a low level after 10pm and over all respectful levels during your stay
- For security reasons, there are no visitors allowed in the unit other than the guests approved to stay, unless otherwise communicated to and approved by the host.
- Please do not flush paper towels, tissues and feminine products down toilet
- Please use a reasonable amount of water and electricity to help us maintain a sustainable environment; excessive usage may result in additional charges.
- Unapproved Late Checkout Policy: Checkout is 11 AM; unauthorized late checkout fees: $50 (up to 1 hour), $100 (after 11 AM), $150 (after 12 PM)
