This home, this town, this region, everything was wonderful!
Our stay in Ay was simply delightful. The location of the property was walkable to everthing in town and convenient to nearby villages and champagne houses. The amenities were excellent with options to be indoors or out. We took advantage of the outside private sitting area and fireplace late into the crisp night. The history of the home was amazing and decor so pleasing. Our host was also very communicative and made sure we had all we needed. This will surely be our go to place to stay for any future trips to the region.
The rental is even better than the pictures! Located in a perfect spot to walk into town to restaurants, visit champagne houses, or grab a train to visit Epernay or Reims! Everything was so easy and the host was very responsive and helpful during our stay! The property is clean and beautifully designed, we especially loved the courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine! You will not be disappointed if you book this place!
Renting this property was on of the best experiences weâve had on Home Away/VRBO.
The home is beautiful, clean, organized, and very stylish. Right in the heart of Ay, we were able to walk everywhere in Ay.
One word of caution, if you have any mobility issues, the curved stairs may be difficult to manage. But we had no problems whatsoever and weâre quite happy with the charm of this beautiful home.
Communicating with a Helena was so easy and she was so kind and attentive. That says, we had little to discuss, as she detailed instructions perfectly and clearly. Her recommendations for shopping, taxis and restaurants was spot on, and we felt well hosted.
If she will have us again, we will return at our first opportunity!
This was such an amazing property. It was sooo clean and spacious with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. Helena, our host was so wonderful to work with... she thought of everything including a few snacks for road-weary travellers and of course, a complimentary bottle of champagne to welcome us!
The town of Ay is so quaint with narrow streets and beautiful old architecture. And the champagne houses are numerous and walking distance from the home. Just be sure to book dinner reservations at the ONLY restaurant in town or you will be disappointed. A simple call the night before should be fine but if they are full, there really is no where else to go. Thankfully for our night, the town of Epernay was a short 15 min drive and we had a great experience at La Parisienne restaurant and managed to pick up a few groceries as well.
If you are coming to the area, we would highly recommend the tour at Moët & Chandon. We would also recommend checking the schedules for any champagne houses you might want to visit as many are closed on the weekend (even Saturdays) - we unfortunately missed out on Veuve Clicquot-Ponsardin as they were closed the day we were leaving.
We had such a wonderful time and would highly recommend this Helena, her home and the area to anyone! Thanks for hosting us!
This place was everything advertised, and more. The house itself is very clean with a fully loaded kitchen to suit all cooking needs. Beds are very comfortable and the courtyard out back is a bonus, and an outstanding place for a champagne cocktail hour. What really made it special is all the little extras that Helena has included from coffee, tea, snacks and even a welcoming bottle of champagne! Outstanding!
Location is also perfect - walking distance to more champagne tasting (and tour) places than you could ever fit in a week+. I recommend a drive up into the small villages north of Ay too...that was a highlight. We went to Epernay too, which was nice, but nothing compared to the charm of Ay.
Communication with the owner is very efficient with all messages being answered immediately. An excellent host!
Thanks again Helena for an amazing stay!! Would love to make a return visit some day.
A bientot!!
