We liked it is close to downtown so uber prices were pretty affordable. The dining option were really close. The "Quickie Pickie" is not just a convenience store, awesome burgers and tacos. Everything we needed was in walking distance. The apartment is very clean and well organized. They have a lot of extra towels and more than enough dishes and silverware. I would definitely stay here again.

Basement apartment

The apartment was easy to enter, just down about five stairs from the yard. The decor was convenient and well planned. The art on the wall was interesting. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen efficient. The only media available was Netflix but I wasn’t here to watch television. While not downtown, it was only a mile or so to Sixth Street restaurants and bars. I walked one evening there and back without a problem. The Texas state cemetery was about two blocks away which suited me. Many interesting and historical memorials.

Good with a couple of cautions

This property worked well for our visit and we enjoyed it overall. Be aware of a couple of concerns: 1-OK for 2 people but too small for more. 2-Deadbolt on entry door has been disabled. 3-Tub is extremely slippery-anyone with balance issues should avoid. Previous reviewer stated she fell and was injured. Items 2 & 3 have been noted before by reviewers but not addressed by the owners.

Perfect retreat in East Austin

Great base of operations for people who want neighborhood flavor and easy walking or biking around town. The apartment had everything we needed and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We would have been happy to stay longer,!

Excellent all around

It's an adorable apartment! Very clean and thoughtfully appointed with toiletries, coffee, creamer, dish soap. All the little things you need. All you have to do is show up and enjoy. Neighborhood was safe and quiet. Hosts were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We had a specialty parking situation as we have a very large vehicle and the hosts were very helpful and communicated well with us to accommodate our needs. A great stay.

Solid Stay

Great spot, well-maintained, comfortable, all the amenities in the kitchenette. Shower was nice. Phone charger and bluetooth speaker were helpful. Only areas of improvement, we were parked in twice with the street parking situation and had to park around the block once. Not the end of the world. The gate in and out of the yard was a bit overgrown to the point where it was hard to open and close. With our bags and groceries it wasn’t ideal. The yard looks like fun, and clearly not used enough by visitors. Lots of cool butterflies floating around the lantana. I suggest stopping for a second to smell the flowers.

Cute studio in great location!

This is the second time we have stayed here. We like to come to Austin every so often for different music events. This studio is in a great location for us and very convenient. We are able to walk to most places we want to go. Julie and Francois are always very friendly and happy to help if we need anything. Will definitely be staying here again!

Great place in an awesome location

I rented this for my sister who was visiting. We live nearby and don't have extra space. I'd always admired the house, biking past in the neighborhood. This is a rare basement apartment below a single family house. It was clean and had everything you would need. Plenty of space for a one bedroom. Easy check-in, would definitely recommend to other family or anyone wanting a nice place in the neighborhood. Tons of great places in walking distance, or grab a bicycle.

Just like the pictures. This basement space is near plenty of Austin action. 6th Street is a walk, scooter, or Lyft away. Night time is quite enough for rest, and the AC in the bedroom keeps you cool in the evenings. Both hosts are attentive to any needs you may have. Check in and out was a breeze. Space is great for two people, however you can have enough space for 4. Shower and bathroom area is well lit and there is a hair dryer and plenty of towels. With as many restaurants within walking distance we didn't cook but place offed items for that if needed. Fridge is a smaller one. There was sever outdoor seating areas. Beautiful flowers lining the fence of the backyard. Will definitely book again and suggest to friends.

Perfect location, helpful hosts

We had a parent's weekend away and this pad was perfect for the two of us, and the location was very walkable to plenty of restaurants and bars! Our hosts were very responsive and allowed us to stay past our checkout time when our flight wasn't until later in the day (no other guests were scheduled that day). Would definitely stay again!

Just what I needed!

The apartment has everything you would need when visiting Austin for a conference. Really handy. The neighborhood has some great places to eat. The only downside is that it gets really dark at night. I would recommend adding some more lights!

Convenient Location, Cozy Stay

This apartment in the basement / ground level of a home is clean, fully furnished, and comfortable. The kitchenette was stocked and the bed was great. Lots of windows, with curtains to draw for privacy. Owner communicated promptly and clearly. Drawbacks were that the keypad entry wasn't intuitive to lock (and had no instructions), and door didn't have an interior lock / deadbolt / chain, which felt unsafe. In addition, the tub was very slippery, with no traction or handholds (I slipped and fell, seriously hurting myself). Would also recommend a towel rack or hook be added. I'd stay here again on my next Austin visit, if those items are addressed.

Excellent Location!

I enjoyed my stay at this property! The owner was very sweet and communicated well. It is a basement so there was some noise (mainly footsteps) in the evening and early in the morning. However, if you are not a light sleeper, then it is not an issue. The place was also clean with some kind extras like coffee available and drinks in the fridge. The location is what makes this property so great. It is within walking distance of major Austin attractions and an easy 25 minute walk to the convention center. Food options are plentiful around the area. I would recommend a stay here!
