Million Dollar View!

Fall in love with Auckland 'the city of sails!' We're near downtown Auckland and the gorgeous cafe soaked 'Viaduct Harbour'. Our tastefully decorated home is light, airy and fresh with unimpeded amazing views of the harbour - it's sensational!
Please note that due to a change in NZ law, our house has had to be re-listed on VRBO in 2024, as a new listing. Our previous listing had received 124 excellent reviews! We know you'll love your stay here!

Our house is a traditional bungalow. We have tastefully renovated it and split it into two completely separate units. This unit faces the sea, and all day sun floods into the living area through the french doors, that lead onto our deck. The deck faces the sea and we spend countless hours sitting on the deck watching the yachts in the harbour racing, or having a BBQ with friends in the evening and looking at the lights of the harbour bridge, the boats and the city.
There is a lawn area in front of the deck, and free car parking is available in our driveway (not common in this area).A great suburb to walk around Freemans Bay, Ponsonby, and St Marys Bay. You can walk along the boardwalk by the Westhaven Marina and stroll to the cafes underneath the Harbour Bridge or over to the amazing Viaduct Harbour, with all its cafes and restaurants.

We're about a 15 minute walk down to the local supermarket at Freemans Bay. It has everything you need from wine to fruit and vege and everything in between for your self-catering stay.

✦Things To Do✦

Visit the Auckland Art Gallery to see a full survey of Maori, Pacific, and Europan Art from pre-contact until the 21st century. There are paintings, sculptures, and multi-media art. This venue is also child friendly with an interactive children's area.

Go up the Sky Tower to get the best panoramic views of Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf. Go on a clear fine day to get the best of your admission. You can also go to the Revolving Restaurant for a meal or coffee. Check the website for details.

Visit the Auckland Museum to see the history of the flora, fauna, and culture of Aotearoa/New Zealand. See the finest collection of Maori Artifacts and textiles. There is a great interactive kids section and a newly installed T-Rex to visit! Enjoy the Auckland Domain and Winter Gardens outside.

Take a cruise on the harbour, or take a ferry to one of the Gulf Islands like Waiheke Island or Rangitoto Island. You can take the ferry from the Princess Wharf ferry terminal to most parts of Auckland. Try the day trip to Titirtiri Martangi Island to see the best display of endangered native birds.

What a view! So nice to wake up each day and look out over the bay. One day we saw a rainbow after a brief shower. Host was very responsive we had a small problem with the washing machine and he was right on it and got it fixed.

Really comfortable space and cozy bed. Super well-equiped with everything we needed. Spectacular view! The name is absolutely spot on. The area wasn't as walkable as I thought it would be, but that's my ignorance of the city. We were able to get around pretty efficiently with Ubers. We had a lovely time.

Wonderfully Cute Apartment

The view was amazing, the apartment had everything we needed, the location was wonderful, and we were able to walk to nearby places. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. I'd gladly stay here again!

Brilliant location and harbour views!

This cozy home was a great location to explore Auckland from. The harbour view is wonderful and we were treated a light show on the Auckland Bridge in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked and had breakfast foods available, much appreciated! We highly recommend this place.

Very “homey”….

This little bungalow with the million dollar view is a wonderful place to stay in the City of Sails. All the mod-cons plus off street parking make this property a super value in Auckland.

Beautiful and cozy home with an amazing view! We absolutely loved our stay! Cliff and Jenni were incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. We enjoyed chatting with them when we arrived a bit early to drop off our bags. Overall an excellent experience!

My wife and I really enjoyed staying in this quaint house with a million dogs view! Aukland is just amazing and we will definitely stay here again if able. The hosts were responsive and helpful. They gave extra little touches to make it stay special and made us feel welcomed.

Our stay was amazing. Loved the location and the house is so great with a spectacular view. Also loved the company of Ruby the cat. Gave her treats and wanted to bring her back to the states. Cliff&Jenni were so great and easy to contact and respond time was immediate.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. The unit was clean and appropriately appointed. Ruby the cat was friendly and so cute. The view was great during the day, but even better at night with the lights in the harbor and on the bridge. It was close enough to walk to restaurants both downtown and to the closer eclectic shopping area to the south.

Fantastic views and central location

Can't beat this location - downtown CBD and lively Ponsonby both within few mins drive, or a nice walk. Despite that, the neighborhood is quiet and has an upscale, secure feel to it. The apartment itself was great, just the right size for the 2 of us. Views over the Auckland harbour are incredible, and makes you enjoy cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. Hosts were communicative and accommodating - would definitely stay here again if we visit Auckland.

Beautiful view in a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Property was exactly as in the photos, clean, comfortable and with all the little extras (like pantry and kitchen items) that made our stay much easier. View was of course amazing and we spent our evenings enjoying dinner overlooking the water. The location was also very close to Ponsonby so easy to walk to groceries, restaurants and shops. Finally, Jenni and Cliff were wonderful to communicate with and answered any questions we had promptly. Overall would highly recommend and would love to stay again one day!

A fantastic view.

Yes the view is fantastic! Something to look at all the time. The motorway below did not disturb us during our stay. The place is small but clean and cosy, off street parking a bonus. We were able to walk to Westhaven via a bridge over the motorway(Jacobs Ladder) and would recommend Billfish, or Buoy, cafes for coffee or brunch. We found Cliff toeasy to communicate with, and he was prompt with our enquiries.

Lovely sea view property

Very well equipped property with a super helpful host. We were in the Kawau Suite on the lower level which still had a great view. Quality dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans and a full size refrigerator/freezer. Good wifi/internet We were just two people in a 2 bedroom suite. There is no dining room table and chairs inside, but counter seating and good seating outside

Fantastic accommodation

My husband and I stayed here for five nights when we first arrived in New Zealand. The house was clean and comfortable, very well-stocked and beautifully decorated. The million dollar view that is advertised is actually priceless. After touring the city, we enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the harbour activity. At night we were treated to a light show on the bridge. This is in a beautiful neighbourhood and just a pleasant 25 minute walk to the CBD. We will be returning to Auckland for our last three days before we fly home. We are so looking forward to staying here again.
