The Space:

The back house is a private, self-contained 1 bedroom with its own entrance, so you are not sharing common space with anyone else. The bedroom is set up with bed linens, extra pillows and blankets, hangers, and clothing storage, so you can settle in for a few days or a few weeks without living out of a suitcase. Room-darkening shades help if you are working overnight shifts and need to sleep during the day.



The living area has a TV, a dining table, and a laptop-friendly workspace, which is useful if you need to take a call or knock out a few hours of work.



The kitchen is fully equipped: refrigerator with freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, cookware, dishes, silverware, and wine glasses. Coffee is provided to get you started. You can cook your own meals instead of eating out every night, which adds up fast on a longer stay.



The bathroom has a bathtub, shower, hot water, and a hair dryer. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and shower gel are provided so you are not running to a store on day one. Air conditioning, heating, and a ceiling fan keep the space comfortable across seasons.



A washer and dryer are in the unit. There is a small safe for valuables. There is also a designated parking spot next to the garage marked with a metal sign, plus free street parking.



Guest Access:

Self check-in. You will receive instructions before arrival so you can land on your own schedule. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. The Neighborhood:

The back house is in central south Amarillo, a quiet residential area with easy access to the rest of the city. You are a short drive from Westgate Mall, the medical district anchored by BSA Hospital and Northwest Texas Hospital, and the TTUHSC at Amarillo campus. Downtown Amarillo, the SoPo arts district along Polk Street, Palace Coffee, and Tyler's Barbecue are all an easy drive. Wonderland Park, the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, and Palo Duro Canyon State Park are also within reach for a free afternoon or a day trip.



Getting Around:

Amarillo is a driving city. A personal vehicle or rental car is the easiest way to get around. The back house is a short drive to I-40 east and west and to I-27 south, which connects you to the rest of the city quickly. Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is a short drive across town. Uber and Lyft both operate locally.



Other Things to Note:

Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are in place. Fire extinguisher and first aid kit are also on site. No smoking inside the unit. No parties. No pets without prior approval. The unit is set up for a quiet stay. Long term stays are welcome, so if you are on a contract or a temporary assignment, message us with your dates.



Interaction with Guests:

We respect your privacy. We do not drop in. We are a quick message away through the booking app, or by text if that is faster. We respond within an hour during the day and as quickly as we can otherwise. If something needs attention during your stay, tell us and we will handle it.
