The Neighborhood:

In the 1860s, the two settlements were linked by a railroad that carried the town's famous Watercress to London. From Alresford to Alton, the "Watercress Line" still travels through the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Now this quaint and beautiful town is ideal for a leisurely stroll thanks to its colourful Georgian homes, independent and specialised stores, and eclectic mix of charming inns, trendy cafes, and classic tea rooms. Take a stroll along the riverbank and check out the 13th-century Fulling Mill, or spend some time at Old Alresford Pond, which is teeming with otters and other waterfowl. The Millennium Trail is a network of walkways that winds through and connects the town, providing a great opportunity to learn about and appreciate the local culture and history.
