Terrible experience for family of 6
Listing did not include exact gps coordinates but, no problem, I cross-referenced map pictures provided in listing to find property. I had messaged Carl, the owner, that we'd be calling or texting him when we get there that evening. As soon as we got through the door,around 8:45pm, he called to check in on us. He told us that there were left over things from other guests around the house and fridge/freezer that we could use since I had asked if he had a coffee pot to use. My husband sat on the couch and tried to get Netflix to work, he said there was no wifi, so no TV unless we have hotspot. We were on the phone for 3min 5sec while I quickly walked through the house and thanked him for the call and he said to call him if I needed anything and we hung up. I took my luggage and went to the first bedroom on the left, my mom was making coffee on the moka pot, husband was on couch tired/falling asleep, and my 3 kiddos(12,10, and 2)were checking everything out around the house. That's when they touched the kitchen table and it fell on my toddler because it was propped up by four big plastic cups. I went running to her and that's when my mom showed me a sugar container full with really tiny ants(that we threw away) and and I quickly noticed they were all over the counter, table and floor. I picked up my daughter and took her to my bed, that's where I found a pink earring, small beads and the tiny ants on top of the comforter. Then my two older kids came in and told me the light switch wasn't working in their room. I went to check and told them we'll have to make due with what we have. My mom came to my room after her shower and asked if I had brought a towel by chance because the towel she used stunk really bad, so bad she was still wet because she couldn't continue using it. I told her there were 4 towels here and she smelled them and said they all have the same nasty smell. She also told me there was no hot water and offered to boil some for us. At this point I was already irked that nothing was going right there. I called and texted from 9:23-10:01pm and received 2 texts back at10:25 and 10:28. I replied at 11:15pm and received no answer. If I could provide video or screen shots of it on this review I would. We left and drove around for Hours(till around 5am)looking for somewhere to stay because everything was closed. Owner ended up locking us out/changing key code and said it was no longer his problem since we left that same night.
