Olive Forest Villa

Olive Forest Villa is nestled in the centre of the picturesque village Koxare, among the Crete’s wild mountains and nature. Its location makes the villa the perfect starting point for excursions all around the island and exploring the crystal blue water beaches of the southern coast of Rethymno which are just 15km away. The villa took its name after the close by olive forest in the flatland of Koxare village, one of the biggest olive groves in Crete. The olive forest is accessible within a few minutes’ walk from the property.
The Olive Forest Villa is a newly built holiday house ideal for tranquility and relaxation with stunning rural views. On the outdoor space a lovely 24sqm private swimming pool awaits you to cool down and enjoy the calmness of the area away from the hassles of the big cities. A shaded dining area and comfy sun beds complete the beautiful scenery around the swimming pool. A charcoal BBQ is available on the outdoors too.
With stylish simple interior, the villa offers all the contemporary amenities for a dreamy holiday. On the ground floor the living room comes with a comfortable sofa and a 55” HDTV next to the fully equipped kitchen.
There are three bedrooms in this villa and all have 32’’HDTVs, air-conditioning units, ceiling fans and open closets. One of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor offering a king size bed. The other two bedrooms are situated on the top floor and have a single bed and a king size bed accordingly. The bigger bedroom opens up to a furnished balcony with a wooden pergola and infinity view of the surrounding countryside.
A small bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor while next to the bedrooms on the top floor there is the main bathroom of the villa which has a cabin shower. Hair dryer and free toiletries are available in the bathrooms.
We have given great consideration to the choice of the mattresses and the pillows, as our primary goal is our guests to enjoy a comfortable and restful sleep after a long day of exploring the Cretan nature and beaches. We also provide top quality silk-cotton bed linen, towels, covers, duvets and bathrobes.
For safety reasons an alarm system, two outdoor cameras and fire detectors are installed in the property. Furthermore five parking spots are available for our guests just 30 meters from the house.

LOCATION
Olive Forest Villa is located in the picturesque village of Koxare, 25km away from Rethymno town. Its premium location gives the opportunity to the guests to enjoy their holidays surrounded by the Cretan nature, close to all the necessary amenities.
In Koxare you can find a traditional café (kafenio in Greek) which also has a mini market with all the essentials, a 5x5 sports field (50 meters away from the villa) and some old churches to visit.
Near the village there is an old fort, the so called Koules that was built by the Turks after the Cretan revolution in 1866. This was one of the forts guarding the important passage from Mesara plain to the Sfakia area and it was built near the entrance of Kourtaliotis Gorge. The fort was partially destroyed by the Greek rebels in 1896.
The biggest olive forest in Crete is situated in the flatland of Koxare and is accessible within a few minutes’ walk from the property. Walking through the paths in the flatland you can admire many old bridges and churches.
Every summer a very big festival with Cretan music is held in Koxare village for two days, on the 14th and the 15th of August. On the main square of the village lots of people gather to enjoy the festival which lasts all night long.
For those who love hiking Kourtaliotis gorge is just 5 minutes away from the villa. It is 7km long, need s about 4 hours to cross it and ends up in Preveli Palm Beach.
The magnificent beaches of the southern coast of Rethymno are just 20 minutes by car. We recommend you to visit Preveli Palm Beach, Ammoudi Beach, Damnoni Beach(water sports available), Sxinaria Beach, Karavos Beach (Kalypso diving center and school ).
Spili is a beautiful village 10 minutes away from the property by car. There you can find many restaurants and cafes, supermarkets, butchery shops, a bakery and a pastry shop, postal services and ATMs.
