The host had the wrong phone number for me so sent the check in instructions to the wrong number. My profile has the correct number so not sure how this happened. We were able to connect after I contacted vrbo. I rented this place for myself and an employee while we took some business courses. At the last minute I was unable to go so my employee checked in and found all the windows open and the air conditioner set to 66 degrees. She reported there was a "funky" smell as well. After looking around, she discovered long black hairs all over the floor, a wad of black hair on the bed, a thick layer of dust on the bed and pillows, a dirty kitchen floor, and very dirty walls around the entrance. There were also a lot of bugs in the apartment, probably because the windows had been left open. I messaged the host on Tuesday night and he didn't respond until Wednesday. He said he was going to send his cleaner over. on Tuesday night, I let him know that my employee didn't feel safe staying there because it looked like there had been a problem with the lock on the unit door and she wasn't happy about the cleanliness of the condo. She ended up staying with a relative 45 minutes away.Wednesday the host said his cleaner had checked the apartment and my complaints were "not valid". We have pictures of everything and I sent them to the host. He just kept saying that nobody ever complained about the front door and that the pictures I sent didn't "show cause". He refused tany refund.
