NEIGHBORHOOD

Porta Vittoria is a neighborhood that harmoniously combines the past and the present, an area where historical memory coexists with urban planning and inclusive spaces.



A stroll through history and the Risorgimento

Imagine arriving in Piazza Cinque Giornate, the heart of the area: here stands the monument by Giuseppe Grandi (1895), erected where the Spanish gate of Porta Tosa once stood, later renamed Vittoria to commemorate the victory of the patriots during the Five Days of 1848. Around it, the two remaining toll booths testify to the neoclassical appearance of the old gate.



The neighborhood itself has rural, working-class origins: until the late 19th century, it consisted of vegetable gardens and farms, while it slowly urbanized while maintaining a dual spirit—proletarian and lower-middle-class.



Art Nouveau elegance and contemporaneity

Walking along Via Mameli and its surroundings, you come across elegant Art Nouveau buildings such as Casa Frisia, a significant exponent of this style in Milan. Continuing, Palazzo Borgazzi on Corso di Porta Vittoria features elegant decorative telamons.



Not far away, WOW Spazio Fumetto offers an interactive journey through illustration and animation, bringing cultural energy to families and enthusiasts.



Urban planning, greenery, and new horizons

Opposite the new 8 Marzo park and adjacent to the modern Parco dei Marinai d'Italia (or Vittorio Formentano) are pathways for relaxation, play, and urban art, such as the Palazzina Liberty transformed into the Casa della Poesia.



The site of the former PortaVittoria railway station is rapidly growing, and will be the site of the BEIC, the European Library of Information and Culture, which will become a multimedia archive, events, co-working, and green space modeled after the great European libraries. PortaVittoria retains an authentic character: the streets are lined with historic shops, vintage markets like Penelope, the weekly Calvi market, the Porta Romana and Piazzale Martini markets, and ethnic and traditional delis. Nearby Areas to Explore

The Monforte neighborhood, to the north, preserves traces of the Spanish walls and is a slice of historic city with elegant avenues and secluded alleys. Casa 770, the only surviving example of the original Brooklyn building, is located there.



To the south lies Porta Romana, with the historic Guastalla Gardens and the Cascina Cuccagna.

GET AROUND

Via Carlo Freguglia 2 si trova in una posizione centrale e molto ben collegata di Milano, tra Porta Venezia, Piazza Cinque Giornate e Corso XXII Marzo, in un contesto urbano elegante e ricco di servizi. La zona ù servita in modo capillare da metropolitana, tram e autobus, consentendo spostamenti rapidi verso il centro storico, le principali stazioni ferroviarie e tutti gli aeroporti milanesi. È inoltre facilmente accessibile la nuova linea M4 (blu), che ha migliorato sensibilmente i collegamenti con l’aeroporto di Milano Linate e il quadrante est della città.



AUTOBUS E TRAM

Via Carlo Freguglia e le vie limitrofe sono attraversate da numerose linee ATM di superficie, molto utili per gli spostamenti quotidiani:



Tram

Tram 9 linea circolare che collega la zona con Stazione Centrale, Repubblica, Porta Genova, Navigli e Bicocca.

Tram 12 e 27 collegano l’area con Duomo, Porta Venezia, Lambrate e l’asse est della città.

Tram 19 utile per raggiungere Cadorna, Castello Sforzesco e l’area di San Siro.



Autobus

Linea 60 collega rapidamente la zona con San Babila e il centro storico.

Linea 73 percorre Corso XXII Marzo e rappresenta un collegamento diretto verso Linate (in alternativa alla M4).

Linea 84 utile per raggiungere San Donato, Rogoredo e l’area sud-est.

Linea 92 linea circolare che attraversa diversi quartieri strategici della cittĂ .



Le fermate si trovano tra Via Freguglia, Corso XXII Marzo, Piazza Cinque Giornate e Viale Premuda, tutte facilmente raggiungibili a piedi.



METROPOLITANA

La zona Ăš ottimamente collegata alla rete metropolitana milanese:

Porta Venezia M1 (linea rossa) raggiungibile in circa 8–10 minuti a piedi, consente collegamenti rapidi con San Babila, Duomo, Cadorna FN e l’area ovest della città fino a Rho Fiera.

Palestro M1 valida alternativa, leggermente piĂč vicina per alcune zone dell’area.

Dateo (Passante Ferroviario) raggiungibile in pochi minuti, utile per collegamenti rapidi verso Garibaldi, Rogoredo, Lambrate e l’hinterland.

Da San Babila ù inoltre possibile l’interscambio con la M4, ampliando ulteriormente le possibilità di spostamento.

La nuova linea M4, che collega il centro di Milano con l’aeroporto di Linate, ù facilmente raggiungibile a San Babila M4, accessibile tramite M1 da Porta Venezia o Palestro o Bus 60 diretto oppure Tram 12/27 fino a San Babila

We love location, close to Duomo but no tourist around . Apartment is very spacious, nice bathroom and washing machine in closet.High ceilings in all rooms .
