Holiday Inn ISTANBUL AIRPORT

I dont know how much they paid for there 5 stars but I'd bet it was a lot ! There is not enough space in this forum to write everything wrong with this hotel but I will tell you this much and then you decide. The windows in the rooms, and I mean all of them in the hotel, DO NOT OPEN. They were not built to open either. Basically, they put a pretty face on a ugly monster !!

The hotel and the services provided were excellent. The main desk was most helpful. Our major concern dealt with the airport pick-up. It was scheduled for once every two-hours at the airport. When we wanted to return to the airport at 0330, the service was not available. Yet the information on the website indicated 'free shuttle service to the airport.' There were limitations & these should be noted.

Check in and out were effecient. The room was clean and quiet. I liked the pillow menu. It was really very nice.

Upgraded to a suite.

We were in the hotel for only 12 hours, but enjoyed it very much. The room and the hotel in general are extremely attractive and comfortable. It is quiet and well maintained. It was New Years Eve and there were many functions, attracting people of all ages. The hotel is somewhat isolated so we chose from the hotel's restaurants. However, there is 24-hour Taxi service, if one wants to find a local restaurant. We dined in the "Tulip Restaurant" which was more reasonably priced than the more elegant "Sultanet". The half bottle of wine was pricey but very nice. A varied choice of foods, including an extensive buffet - all delicious. The lobby cafe is very comfortable with a wide variety of snacks, pastries, and beverages. We will definitely stay again when overnight in Istanbul.

I did an excursion in Turkey and it was wonderful, unfortunately my visit came on the heels of the flood and this hotel was not receiving guest, but there was a member of the staff waiting to assist me with other accommodations and I couldn't have been more pleased.

Great building, very friendly personnel, very attentive to your needs. However, make sure that you get directions via phone from the hotel personnel to reach the hotel. It mis at an intersection of two highways and if you miss the exit, you will have to spend over hapf an hour to get back and find the hotel. You can see it from anywhere but getting there is tricky and there are no signs on the road.

Everything was great. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull. This hotel will be my first choice when I visit Istanbul again.

This hotel tried to make me pay for my room when it was prepayed. After I called Cheaptickets and your agent discussed the contract they then agreed that it was prepayed but would not give me the room until I gave a credit card security deposit of $100.00 to cover services like buffet, mini bar or hotel phone. Other than that it's one of the best bussiness hotels in Istanbul, but I don't recomment this hotel for tourist, because it's too expensive, and too far away from the main atractions. Phil Latour

I am a picky person by nature but have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I didn't want to leave! Close to the airport and 20 min to the old city. There is some construction around it now (June 2009) but it will be even better once over. I loved the very friendly staff, the super clean rooms, modern design, restaurant options located in the hotel, and the best was the spa with the turkish bath. What more can you ask for? I am certainly going back and recommend you do too!
