Hotel Lido

Nice location but very noisy. If you a light sleeper you may want to look elsewhere. The breakfast was good with good coffee and friendly staff.

Older hotel with rooms that are large but very dated, no character, old furnishings, no extra. I stayed during late June when weather was warm and humid and the lack of any air conditioning in the room made it hot and stuffy - I opened the window, but then suffered from very high levels of road noise. The bed was overly soft and hard to sleep in. The bathtub has a handheld wand rather than a shower. I paid 10 francs ($10) for use of the Internet but then the internet was down and I could not access email during the visit. The breakfast that comes with the room is very basic, juice and coffee and cereal and such. The location is close to the train station, which is a huge plus. However, the streets are also a bit filled with people hanging out, women seeking companionship, folks that seem to be in the grey area of life, to put it kindly. Many hostess bars and such within 2 or 3 blocks of this hotel, if that is your "thing." Not a place I'd want to take a wife, girlfriend, children, parents, etc., to say the least.

The bathroom door did not lock and the extra bed provided was too soft for a night sleep.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station. The quadruple room that we stayed on the 4th floor was clean and conveniently - one bed is located on the side giving our teenager son some privacy. On a fair day the room has a view of the snow capped Alps. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating - we stored our ski gear in the hotel storage for 5 days while having a side trip in another city.
