Atlantic Hotel Prague

I don't want this report to appear unduly critical as we are more used to travelling long haul using 4 & 5 star hotels but we had decided to settle for Europe on a budget this year. We therefore realised there would be compromises to be made. The location was great. It was easy to walk to all the attractions within the old town, down to the Charles Bridge and across to Mala Strana. There was also a metro station and trams within easy reach to travel further afield. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby also. The hotel itself is a bit dated and worn but perfectly clean and the staff very friendly. Our room was very large and quiet so long as you kept the windows closed. We were on the first floor towards the back of the hotel with no view but given the surrounding buildings I doubt there would be much of a view from any room. Our main problem was the bed. I have slept on some "firm" mattresses but this was like concrete and what should have been nice fluffy feather pillows were like flat pancakes. Of our 3 nights here we did not get more than a few hours sleep any night. Perhaps because we are too used to 5 star luxury we expected to find the usual supply of toiletries in the bathroom but there was only a shower cap and 2 liquid soap dispensers - no face cloths, shampoo, body lotion etc. The soap by the basin was OK and did have a very nice fragrance but the dispenser in the shower gave only a very weak trickle. The shower cubicle itself was a bit of a tight squeeze so the whole experience of showering left something to be desired. I had read glowing reports of the breakfast and if you are happy with a cold continental style breakfast you will probably be satisfied but the choice of hot food was lacking. The only eggs available were pre cooked hard boiled - no fried, scrambled or poached. On 2 mornings they had some quite nice crepes but had them alongside peas carrots and potatos. A strange combination for breakfast especially given that vegetables seemed to be lacking from the menu in much of Czech cuisine at dinner. The only fruit juice available was orange which was not of the freshly squeezed variety but tasted like very diluted squash full of artificial flavouring. As I said at the start we realised that this is only a 3 star hotel and did not expect luxury. If your expectations are not too high, you like a firm bed and cold breakfast this probably represents good budget accommodation but bring your own toiletries.

Not bad but disappointing as a 3 star hotel. Rooms were stuffy with no aircon, while noise from the trams (all night) on the street side was loud. Not the best stocked rooms and they had their own taxi arrangements, more expensive than metered ones and dodgy with the change.

Nice stay at the hotel. Up side, great breakfast, next to the mall and walking distance to all the sites. Down side was the wi-fi internet does not work in the rooms on the weekend and the computer in the lobby was not always working either. So if you want to keep in communications with internet, that will not be so easy from this hotel. Overall great service.

Ottima esperienza c/o questo hotel. All'arrivo ci avevano assegnato una camera non-fumatori perché non avevano ricevuto la richiesta di XXXXX, sebbene l'avessimo fatto presente, ma il receptionist ha immediatamente preso provvedimenti sebbene fosse mezzanotte. Posizione ideale per visitare qualunque attrazione. Camere spaziose e silenziose. Colazione internazionale (maggiormente salato) molto abbondante e gustosa. Se dovessi ritornare a Praga, sceglierei lo stesso hotel :-)

This hotel was close to Old Town and tram just down the street. It had a great free breakfast. There was also a bar with a pool table. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had a triple room 301 and it was very large with plenty of closet space. The hotel was very clean but a little worn but I would stay there again/

The Hotel Atlantic is in a good location close to all of Prague's major tourist sites. I stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was sufficient for the price. Reception Staff are helpful and most speak good english.

Great hotel if you want to enjoy the city by foot. All POIs can be reached easily. Breakfast could be a bit better.

Great location, can walk to Old Town Square and close to the metro. Service was wonderful, they spoke English and held our bags in a secure room. Breakfast was very filling. I would stay there again forsure.

Not fancy, but good value for money and good location near centre and local transport hub. Second time I've stayed here so must like it!
