ibis Plzen

Hotel Ibis is one of the nicest hotels in Plzen, Czech Republic. The staff are helpful and all seem to speak perfect English, the building is brand new and spotless, and the in-hotel restaurant is really quite good. The free breakfast spread is excellent (eggs, sausage, granola, yogurt, cheeses, etc). On the downside, to this American the rooms seem a bit small; although they're probably about typical for Europe. I've started expecting an in-room coffeemaker, fridge, and safe; but none of these were present. There wasn't even an alarm clock, although you could use phone to set up an automated wake-up call. No bathtub, just a shower, although in this price range in Europe, having an in-room bath is a serious plus! On the map, it looks like a decent walkable neighborhood, but all the surrounding buildings are actually factories, so you need to either walk for about a mile to the Tesco or university, take bus 15 into downtown, or bring a car. This seems a bit odd for Europe, but there it is.
