GR Solaris Cancun Resort & Spa- All Inclusive

First,the service was excellent,the room was nice,and the extra firm mattress was acceptable.The all-inclusive food,mostly buffet,was like an average buffet.The drinks were bottom shelf,like well drinks,and the bartenders improved with tips.There is a full entertainment schedule,and every thing repeats on a weekly schedule.The pools and beach were great.The location is about 5 miles south of all the clubs,and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus.However, the bus drivers are a little too macho,and drive too fast.Overall,a good stay,but one week was enough for us.

Hotel The hotel was clean, mid-size rooms which had Jacuzzis on the balconies along with table and chairs. The rooms were equipped with; iron, board, clock, TV, phone. Bathrooms were basic, shower, sink and toilet. Several pools, swim up offered daily activities until 5pm. There is direct access to the beach, with great lounging. Location 10 mins from/to airport, you can spend 20 pesos for two people to take the city bus to downtown Cancun; Senior Frog's, Daddy O's, Coco Bongo, etc., or you can stay on the bus for about 35-40 mins and ride to Wal-Mart (if necessary). You can book a trip to Xcaret (a must see excursion) and that will take you about 1hr or you can check out the Myan Ruins which will take you about 2 hr 45 min. Food Food at the hotel was below average. Drinks were watered down and not worth consuming. If you’re a serious drinker, you should probably visit the liquor store up the street. Service Hotel staff was very pleasant, and their customer service was good. We WERE NOT pressured to attend a time share pitch.

Couple under 30: Upon arrival to Cancun, I was anticipating that there would be a hotel shuttle available outside of the baggage claim area, unfortunately, I was sadly disappointed and was bombarded by hundreds of taxi cab and shuttle service salesmen. After doling out nearly $45 to get the vacation started I was off and running. Once I arrive at the hotel, I was initially blown away by the picturesque view of the ocean and the pool area. This initial excitement was shortly dissipated once I arrived to my room. The room was well air-conditioned except it was extremely humid, making it difficult to get comfortable in the king size bed for the remaining duration of the trip. The overall room amenities were acceptable except nothing to rave about. The view from the balcony was probably the best attribute about the room. The resort itself had several pools, the primary pool was pretty much dedicated to party goers and families. A pool off behind the buffet area outside offered a nice refuge for peace and quite. If you want to relax on your trip with utter peace and quite I would recommend spending your time in the adult only pool area. The beach is also a great area to spend in the quite, particularly the areas that are shaded with an overhang. As an all inclusive resort I was somewhat disappointed by the quality of the food and drinks. The drinks were all made with well liquor and the hotel did not really offer any mid shelf options. Additionally, the drinks in general were weak with alcohol content. The food generally was dry or cold. I am a big fan of quality food and I had a bit higher expectations for the food at this resort. During the 5 day, 4 night stay, I decided to get a deep tissue massage for me and my girlfriend. for $153 US both of us received an hour long massage. For the most part, I thought that the massage was ok, however, it was clear that the resort did not employee the highest quality therapists. Overall, I think the amenities were slightly below my expectations. I just wanted a reasonably priced 4 days of peace and quite on a beach with my girlfriend. For the most part, everything was accomplished except for a few attributes of the hotel and travel experience itself.

I loved everything about GR solaris everyone was so nice. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Our stay at the GR Solaris was amazing. We had the room with a panoramic view and it was awesome. The entertainment staff was the best we have ever experienced. Ana was so personable and friendly. It was clear she enjoyed her job and wanted to make sure everyone had a good time. We met so many new friends because of the friendly atmosphere. Manuel and Luis at the pool bar were excellent. We WILL be back!

at first I was not happy we had just travaled all day to get to hotel the first thing was a sell pitch. Not a good way to start a vaction. we wanted to see the room unpack take in the view. after that we had a great time. I think you should ask to set up time after you have rested. we will be back

Paradise! Beautiful beach, great food, spacious and clean rooms. The staff was delightful!

We had a great stay at the GR Solaris! The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms and resort were clean, and the location was beautiful! The food was hit and miss for me, but my husband loved it all (breakfast is the best). I highly recommend the spa services, if you go. Great experience all around!

Fun family friendly resort. Good value overall. Rooms were okay and house-keeping wasn't outstanding but always responded well when we had house-keeping requests. Food was decent: Marco Polo was the best; Dinners are good; Decent breakfast but menu barely changes; Average lunch; Cocktails were a bit watered down but we didn't mind. Well maintained beach and pool area. Staff serve drinks on the beach - Very nice. Marina facilities were good - we took out a pedal-boat. Shows were good - Some of them very good; few were average (e.g. Mime show). Bring lot of dollar bills for tips - Tips do go a long way in getting better service in restaurants and bars. Few areas to improve: Front-desk staff did their jobs but can be a bit more guest friendly. Shuttle service to marina/royal solaris was terrible. One per hr is too infrequent and it was 15 mins late when we took it (we took the bus on the way back to avoid the hassle). No wonder most folks that use the marina are from Royal Solaris. Juices and Milk were seriously diluted and had a 1-star feel to it.

great resort with lovely beach,good food and great amenities.facility was clean and well maintained.waiters are very friendly. ( special mention: Corona and Juan who worked at the restaurant.. were very good servers with good recommendations).we were very happy with the room view - ocean view 7th floor! The Deli which is open until 6.00am is a great help for kids who need milk and snacks at regular intervals.there are free shows every night for the family to enjoy together. Again great experience,very friendly and hard working people....they DONT expect tips at all (but pls tip them as they really work hard for you!) All in all a very relaxing and good vacation!
