Riu Tikida Garden All Inclusive

The Riu Tikida Graden is a lovely, clean, friendly hotel located 10-15mins outside bustling Marrakech. The gardens are extensive and beautifully maintained, with a wonderful fragrant floral walkway from reception to the poolside. Unfortunately the pool is very cold and not conducive to a relaxing swim, they really ought to heat it in winter as it is a key attraction of the hotel. The food is good overall but does get a little repetetive. Fantastic shower!

I would say that this hotel is in a good location. Walking in to the centre of Marrakech was possible without too much trouble whilst it was just far away from the centre (and in a large enough plot of land) to be a refuge from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms aren't flash and nor is the food, but both were entirely acceptable and the overall package respresented sensible value for money. Some of the plants in the gardens are quite exceptional.

This hotel combines the best of all worlds. Far enough out of the noise, hustle and bustle of central Town to mean that you can relax in peace and tranquility, but only a 10 min shuttle bus ride away if you want the lively, vibrant city life. Staff fantastic from the General Manager all the way down to the Gardeners - always greated you with a "Good morning" and huge smile and found it no trouble to go the extra mile to help you get all that you want from your stay. Hotel noticed from hubbys passport that it was his Birthday while we were there and sprung a beautiful surprise candlelit dinner and birthday cake, complete with the waiters singing "happy Birthday". Don't listen to the moans and groans from those whingey Britson other review sites..... we are already trying to book to go again - the sooner the better, we just can't wait!!!!

Overall enjoyed our stay terrific value for the price . Food salads could be more imaginative,as could sweets ,but we suppose they are working to a budget we think the toilets require extractor fans (none in the hotel)

I travelled to this hotel beginning of March '12 with my wife and 4month old baby, This hotel is great, what sets it apart is that the service is exceptional. The hotel manager made himself known to me within a day, the head chef would take his time to come and greet me and my family on a daily basis and any requests i made honoured within minutes. For example for my babys cot i wanted something to make it higher (cot was deep) so i can put my baby in and out easily. Within 2 minutes i had someone come to my room and add two more matteress in and make it a level which I was happy with, the next day the same guy found me just after breakfast and asked me if all was well with the bed and whether my baby had slept well. On one evening the lights went off in my room, I walked over to the devices which contains the room key, pulled the key out and re-inserted it and lights came back on, with me having my baby with me I didn’t want the same problem to occur again so I called reception and told them what just happened. Within a minute I had one of the guys from reception in my room investigating the problem, he then called maintence and within 5minutes he was in my room swapping out the unit. This level of efficiency is unheard of as far as I am concerned. I have stayed in literally 100’s of hotels but never have I seen service like this. They put things right immediately. I’m concentrating on negatives and how they changed that and my point is that the service is great. It was nice to walk around the resort and staff smile and say hello, the entertainments team were polite and made effort with all. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and seeing that I had a baby would go above and beyond their duties to make sure me and my wife were comfortable. Overall I was extremely pleased. Only negative is that the room we stayed in felt dated but apart from that great place. If anyone from Riu reads this then I would like to personally thank the staff at this hotel for making my holiday and more importantly my baby’s first holiday very special. Thank you!

Briliant hotel. The food was amazing and the staff extremely helpful. The last day our flight was not until 5pm but they let us use the facilities and even have lunch after the check out! It´s about 10 minute drive from the Medina but you can take the hotel shuttle bus (though last service at 6.15pm and drops you in the new town so a good 25 minute walk to the main square). Petit taxis are easy to take but always negotiate a price before (don´t pay more than 40 dirhams to/from the square). We found the hotel a good place to relax after a day of sightseeing and shopping in the souks. Don´t miss the Moroccan restaurant in the evening but make sure you book in advance. Overall great value for money and would go definitively go back.

A few minutes before arriving at the hotel,I was weary of the surroundings as it seemed I was heading to the back streets of nowhere, until we turned into the main gate and as the barrier opened, we drove passing by all palm trees and orange trees with glowing lights all around to the main entrance of the hotel, it seemed as though we were entering an Arabian night, the grounds of the hotel was beautiful and had a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, from the gardeners, waiters who worked so hard and the entertainment staff namely like Salim, Hasna and Fatima who worked day and night to entertain everyone and they did a fantastic job. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, especially my husband who I took to Marrakech for a surprise birthday. I was very pleased that I chose this hotel and would gladly return anytime in the future, as we made friends there. I would give this hotel 8 points out of I0, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
