Hotel Universal Port Osaka

In der Zeit wo der Universal Park nicht allzu überfüllt ist (Winter) ist es eine super günstige Alternative zu den Hotels in Osaka. Ein wenig ab vom Schuss, aber eine JR Station direkt vor der Tür. In 10-15 Minuten ist man dann auch mitten im Herzen Osakas. Ich würde es wieder buchen-

Having just come from a luxury international hotel in Tokyo, my expectations were high. This is a family-oriented hotel meant for Japanese-speaking tourists visiting Universal Studios (which we didn't). The room was clean and comparatively large by Japanese standards. The bed (a king) was very firm, but comfortable. The room was sparse (no chair or desk). The front desk staff spoke little English, so my rusty Japanese had to suffice. Access to the JR line was easy--a few hundred yards walking outside and across one street--and there was a great "mall" at the station that was part of the park experience. Two stops to the JR Osaka Loop line, and another three to Osaka station (about 10 minutes total). Using the JR Rail Pass made travel a breeze to this hotel, and was one of the deciding factors for choosing it. The room price was reasonable for the proximity to Osaka. The hotel experience itself was nothing special, but it was a solid value and easy to stay there. I noted that there are at least two other very large hotels closer to the same train station, though I cannot compare value or amenities.

Very clean hotel located near universal city osaka, a very good place to stay while visiting universal city. One concern was the room rate as it got cheaper a few days before our stay (checked at hotels.com), I was thinking by booking ahead it would be cheaper but then I guess that's what last minute deals are for...

とくにセパレートタイプのお風呂がよかったです。ゆっくり疲れがとれたし、泡タイプの入浴剤（ソープタイプ）まであって感激でした。1階でテイクアウトできるお店もあってよかったです。

We stayed here with our two children and the rooms were very comfortable. The location is great with Universal Studios straight across the road, also plenty of eating places in the City walk area. It was very easy to take a ferry ride across to the Aquarium as well.

This hotel was beyond my exspectation. It's a very nice hotel, and very accomodating.

After spending close to 2 weeks in Tokyo (at 2 different hotels) we took the Shinkasen train down to Osaka and used Osaka as a base for trips into Kyoto. I chose Universal Port because it had rooms that would accomodate the 4 of us and by Japan standards it was reasonable. It is right next to the train station and Universal City. The staff was great, and they spoke English pretty well, especially the bellhop who we enjoyed having him teach us proper ways to use the Japanese words that we knew. After the expensive hotels in Tokyo, it was refreshing to have free internet in the room as well as extra computers in the lobby. We only went to Universal one night (which was plenty of time to enjoy and it is 1/2 the price of a day pass) but went to the shopping center leading to the entry gate several times. We went there not to shop but to enjoy the variety of restaurant choices. We had to laugh that the one channel that had English being spoken (outside of BBC world news) had the Jaws movie, 24-7. Probably due to the link between Universal Studios and the hotel?

If you have children, this place is fantastic...they really cater for families. The decor and atmosphere is just gorgeous, spotlessly clean and very close to Universal Studios Japan. As this is the official hotel for the theme park, it's very much geared toward visitors who are also visiting the park. I have to say considering how nice the hotel is, I was very surprised by the lack of smiles and warmth from staff. They all seemed very abrupt and "over it". I guess dealing with families and kids can take it's toll... They had a vending machine room on our floor and also for alcohol...very handy. The room service menu was pretty uninteresting...it's a pity they didn't have a bigger range to choose from. Overall, the beds were comfortable, and the actual hotel was gorgeous, it would have been "outstanding" if the staff were more friendly.

we arrived late at night and felt very tired. However, the receptionist was so nice that we had our rooms upgraded. Rooms and beds were large and spacious.
