Windrose Hotel Rome

Hotel Windrose is perfectly located for sight-seeing in Rome. We stayed for 5 nights, and the rooms were very comfortable and lived up to our expectations of a 3 star hotel. The breakfast was good, with a good selection available. Staff were very friendly, and one lady on reception in particular - she gave us lots of useful information on arrival, such as the best ticket to use for public transport, and trips and guided tours in and around Rome that the hotel could reserve for us. She also told us about the excellent restaurant located across the street, which served a good range of Italian food at reasonable prices. Several times she asked us what we planned to do the next day, and advised us on things to see and do, and importantly, how to get to places so we'd see other things along the way. All in all, this was an excellent hotel for our purposes, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

We checked in late night and left by 5 am, so we weren't there long. The hotel lobby is really nice and the receptionist spoke great English. When we took the elevator to our floor, I thought we'd accidentally gotten out on a maintenance floor. The carpet is really dirty and stained. The room was small, but functional. It was clean. The bathroom had a very tight shower and a bath mat with the name of a different hotel on it! The wake up call was on time and the hotel booked us a car to the airport for the morning. I wanted a taxi, but they booked us a 55Euro car service because they said that the taxis weren't reliable at that hour. I think they could have called a taxi, but the car service was very nice.

I enjoyed my stay at the Windrose. It's an attractive hotel, the staff is helpful, and my room (though small) was comfortable. Travelers with laptops should bring an Ethernet cable to use the in-room Internet.

the staff was not very friendly, telephone was not working, did not even try to fix it. continental breakfast was terrible. room was very small. Did not have a pleasant stay. would not recommend at all to all travellers.

I think the price for the room was exceedingly expensive given the terrible rooms. I was thankful that I am not overweight as if I were, I would not have fit into the shower.

Pleasant hotel with friendly staff, good location makes up for the fairly small rooms. we were allowed to check in about three hours earlier than guaranteed, the man at the desk immediately called the cleaners when we arrived and within 20 minutes our rooms were ready. we wouldn´t mind staying here again and will definitely recommend it to our friends.
