Villa Glori Hotel Rome

Tres bine, pas loin du cnetre ville, quartier calme, facile a trouver place de parking et le prix defie toute concurrence..

Très bel hôtel, proche du tram et des bus, peut-être un peu loin pour des gens qui veulent être situé en plein coeur. En revanche, très calme et agréable service.

l'hôtel et personnel charmants mais la propreté de la salle de bains était limite; le petit-déjeuner pauvre. C'est dommage que l'hôtel soit un peu excentré de la Piazza del Popolo surtout que le tramway est actuellement en travaux.

Situé dans une petite impasse, très calme et chaleureuse, nous avons passé trois jours superbes à Rome. L'accueil est irréprochable, les lieux sont "petits", ce qui lui apporte un coté "douillet". Très proche de "Piazza del Popolo" (3 arrêts de tram), il faudra néanmoins rentrer avant minuit sinon vous prendrez le taxi(si vous avez le porte monnaie) ou a pied (s'il vous reste des forces). On le recommande et on y retournera !! Rq: Nous avons eu des nuits promo environ 110 euros.

The hotel was about a 10 minute taxi ride from the Trenitalia station.(about 24 Euros). The Hotel was very nice and clean! The clerks were friendly and helpful with getting tickets to the Vatican and other sites. They provided directions for taking the public transportation (which was an easy way to get around Rome!)and "walking map" information. From the hotel, we took one bus and then walked from the Piazzo del Popolo to the Forum, down the Forum and all around the Colosseo in about 2 hours. We went in and out of many sites and churches along the way. It was a bit nice having the hotel out of the hussel of downtone Rome and yet close enogh to get there easily. There was a nice breakfast included in the price which helped to cut down on meal costs. Rooms were on the small side. My sister and I shared a KIng size bed and had just enough room to walk around the bed. The elevator was very small and if you had a party of 3 with luggage, you would need to make 2 trips. It was a bit of an inconvenience waiting for the elevator.

We enjoyed our stay at this clean, little hotel that is off the beaten path not all that far from the Spanish Steps. Little describes the size of our room. Very minimal, but very clean and well kept up. The bathroom was also very small with little room to maneuver. But when you consider what you go to Rome for, these are things that are worth putting up with. The pillows are another thing. They were extremely thin and we felt they detracted from a good night's sleep enough to mention. With the amount of walking we did in Rome we felt a lack of proper sleep by the third day of our stay. Since the bed was extremely comfortable, we could only attribute it to the pillows. Great continental breakfast, with hot scrambled eggs every day but Sunday. Coffee could have been hotter, though. While the location of the hotel was not optimal, once the very accommodating hotel staff straightened us out on how to get around, we found the location acceptable to what we wanted to do in Rome--see ancient Rome. A short pram ride from a stop within a block of our hotel got us to Piazza del Popolo. From there it was a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, or we could jump on the Metro Line A for a short ride to within a few blocks of Trevi Fountain. A few more Metro stops and we were at Termini where we switched to Metro Line B and were two stops away from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Taking the Metro the other way from Piazza del Popolo, two stops brought us very close to the Vatican. So we found the hotel location more than acceptable for our purposes. However, getting to the hotel from Fiumincino airport could be a nightmare, so we recommend taking a shuttle and paying the 8 extra euros to have them drop you off in front of Hotel Villa Glori. You can schedule a shuttle right at the hotel to get back to the airport when you're ready to check out. There are several cafes and ristorantes in the neighborhood of the hotel, but we chose to take the pram back to Piazza del Popolo in the evening and walk around that neighborhood to find a place for our evening meal. There are a lot more options there. All in all, our experience at Villa Glori was very positive and we would not hesitate to stay there again if we returned to Rome.

Ottimo albergo, adeguato alle quattro stelle (camera un po' piccola ma gradevole). Personale gentilissimo. Colazione con buona scelta di dolci. Consigliato.

It was close to the metro (close enough to walk if you like walking) and very clean.

As last month Villa Glori again. Same good feeling.
