Residenza D&D Rome

We had difficulty checking in because no one was on the premises when we arrived at 2:00 p.m. It took two hours to make contact with staff and get our room. The phone number provided with our reservation was out of service; we had to find an internet cafe, go online to the Residenza website, and get alternate phone numbers and an email address. No one answered our phone calls, but the email eventually worked got their attention. We had to wait until the staff arrived, but then he could not find the key to the room we were assigned. It appeared he had to move a family member out of a room to make it available for us. We were not aware that we should bring our own linens (we did not expect this of a B&B) and there was nothing on the website to indicate that we needed to provide our own sheets and towels. The room itself was nice enough, and the cold breakfast was fine (although being a B&B I was surprised it was served in our room instead of in a dining room or kitchen), and the location, while off the beaten path, was nice enough. However, considering what we paid, I do not think we got the best value for our expense..

The hotel was located just outside of the Piazza de Papplo in central Rome so within walking distance of major sites as well as the Metro. Very clean and a cold breakfast brought to your room every morning between 8am - 10am. Only four rooms, so if it is full, you can hear every sound the others make. The hostess didn't really have great English skills so for travelers that need lots of advice, may not be ideal. While the neighborhood is safe, there is very little street light at night so getting back into the several doors can be slightly complicated. On the doors, not recommended for really large travelers as the main door to the building only opens to 1/4. We had to turn ourselves sideways to get in and out. TV's only English channel was MTV but the wireless internet in the room (free) was nice.

Buon B&B vicino a Piazza del Popolo. Personale molto disponibile. Wifi gratis. Stanza e bagno abbastanza ampi, molto puliti. Migliorabile la colazione (servita in camera)

Elegant and confortable room 3 minutes walking from Piazza del Popolo (and from the subway). Really silent and quiet. Free internet, plasma TV. Minibar. Good italian breakfast served in your room at the time you choose! The price is good compared to the high quality and the central location.
