Hotel staff was very helpful!!!!! The beds were hard and rooms were small, but it was a nice place to stay. It was in walking distance to the Vatacian which was our main reason for going to Rome.

We used the cities public transportation to get around the city. It was 1 euro to ride the bus for 4 hours. And we found that the food was a little cheaper in parts of the city that were away from the Vatician.

Confirma advertising and description
The hotel advertising was deceptive. It is NOT under any cirucmstances 4 star or 3 star American standards and not 4 star even by Italian standards. Rooms are as small as could be. My room was supposed to be handicap accessible. It had NOTHING that would suggest it actually could be used by a handicap person. Space to move, dress, keep luggage was minUte and sparse. It was not possible for me to stay there. I was deceived by the description and am appalled that I had to negotiate my rate and still had to pay for two nights which I didn't stay and could not for reasons of safety and health. The rate for this size room amazed me. How could they ask for that rate. The manager knew I was making a valide point. I know European and Italian standards are different, BUT not that different and you don't pay this rate for this space. I got another hotel for slightly greater rates with a huge room, perfect handicap accessibility etc. I spent my first day negotiating the impossibilty of this room. THis was a shock to me. The manager was polite, civil and worked an arrangement, but I would never have accepted this hotel had I known a head of time about the minimal facility it was. I rented a scooter for mobility in rome and it could not fit the receptio area, nor the elevator nor the room. Imagine.

Loved it!
A beautiful small hotel. I had heard room sizes in Rome are not generous but this was adequate, as was the bathroom - and a powerful shower was a bonus! Not many of the rooms face the main street. Ours did and the double glazing was effective. It's a shopping area so not noisy at night anyway. Mattress is hard, not a problem for me but may be a deal breaker for others. Breakfast on the roof terrace is lovely. It is a buffet with hot egg and bacon options as well as full continental meats, cheese, biscuits, pastries, fruit and yogurt. Fruit juices and bottled water are available as is good help yourself coffee. Other hot drinks can be made to order - I recommend the cappucino! Check in was quick. We arrived about 1pm and our room was ready. The Vatican is 5 minutes walk as is the tube.If and when next in Rome I would definately return to this hotel. One word of warning - avoid the restaurant opposite the hotel entrance. Where bread is typically not charged round Rome, they do! To be fair it does state this on the menu outside but as the menu is poorly written it was not at all obvious. Not convinced it was written on the table menus. They as good as opened a bottle of water as we were seated which you were charged for and to add insult to injury they charged 'tax' on the bill. When questioned the perfectly good english speaking waiter lost his power of communication, eventually suggesting it was an enforced service charge!Service was minimal and the food distinctly ordinary. Most rude and everything that is bad about restaurants. I am glad to say this was our only bad eating experience in Rome.

The queues are massive for the Vatican museums and the Colesseum ( approx 2 hour waiting time when we were there). Prebook tickets or join a guided group to beat the queues.

Close to the Vatican and Shopping
The area for this hotel is like Rodeo Drive in CA. It is 3 blocks from Vatican City. The rooms were very up to date and clean. The staff was extra helpful. We had an early departure so I did not try the breakfast. 2 blocks from a taxi stand to the airport (40 Euro). Great place
