Great location BUT !!!
Great location, but, unfurtunally it was next door to a strip joint, elevetors were limited to 3 people at a time ,room ac not as cold, the room fixture were so modern, i still couldn't figure it out such as lights, hot and cold water, etc.Not so much variety for breakfast.

First time in Rome
Nice place, convenient
First, let it be clear that Italians have a different definition of "air conditioning" than Americans. Also, they do not have irons in the hotel, so your clothes will be wrinkled. Once you get used to that, the Caprice is a great place for the $$. Very close to all the major tourist spots, but out of the way so the street is quiet. Right off the Via Veneto, so high end stores and restaurants are very close, and more reasonable restaurants and shops are easily accessible. Staff is very friendly, and all speak decent english. Should we ever stay in Rome again, we'd book at the Caprice.

Gioia Mia restaurant near Barberini Square...went on a recommendation of the hotel staff. Fantastic.

A+ fpr location
I have stayed at the Caprice three times, and love it, always finding the showers a unique adventure unto themselves! If you come to Rome to luxuriate in your hotel room, this is not the place for you. For exploring Rome, it is a great location. So many sights are within walking distance, many of them downhill. Late in the afternoon, exhausted, you can take the metro uphill. But do not forget at least one a.m. uphill trip to the wonderful Borghese Museum. The Caprice is just off the Via Veneto and also not that far from Rome's main train station. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. There is an elevator, but if you are claustrophobic, take the stairs.

Economies:
Short walk from hotel
As in any big city, some walks are short, others can be long. Take your time and enjoy. For lunch, I highly recommend gelato.
