Mamaison Hotel Andrassy

Les plus : sa localisation (avenue Andrassy et à 2mn du métro) le confort, la décoration, le calme, le restaurant, le personnel efficace et discret, les services : vraiment un bel endroit très agréable. Les moins : sa localisation un peu loin du centre et des magasins (rien aux alentours) mais proche des superbes bains du bois de ville , une petite bouilloire d'appoint dans la chambre (ou comme dans le mamaison de prague une kitchenette) : il fallait bien trouver qqchose ! vraiment rien à redire un havre confortable dans des chambres décorées avec goût et silencieuses.

L'hôtel, outre sont emplacement légerement excentré ( avec toutefois un accés direct au métro...) est très appréciable pour son confort, aussi biens des parties communes que privées... De façade il peut paraitre un peu vieillissant mais intérieurement vous ne serez pas déçu... Le personnel est à l'écoute du client et serviable...

We spent a weekend here. Rooms were spacious and clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Had a couple of very excellent (if slightly expensive) meals in the hotel restaurant. On the metro line and close to Szechenyi baths. Excellent value for money.

Check in to the hotel was very efficient and accommadating. The nice gentleman who checked us in was very informative and provided us with information to upgrade or to add breakfast. He showed me the rooms and we chose to keep our reservation as is. Since we stayed for 6 days, he was so kind to upgrade us without a charge which we appreciated. We got a great price from [...]The hotel is very clean, our room was comfortable with clean bathroom. It was very quiet.The location is wonderful because it's far enough away from the tourist areas but easy to get to those areas. It's about a 20 mins walk. We took the metro which is only 2 blocks away and we were in the pedestrian area with in 10 mins. The streets around the hotel is very safe at all times of the day or night. Several wonderful restaurants around the area. We ate lunch and dinner at the hotel which was delicious. We would stay there again without hesitation. It made our visit to Budapest very enjoyable.

We made our reservation at this hotel 3 months previously because we wanted the location on Andrassy Utca (Street). Imagine our surprise when we were informed on our arrival that we were to be moved to their 'sister hotel' because of 'technical reasons'. We were assured that the sister hotel was only 300 meters away, and was comparable in type. However, it was really at least 1.5 km away in a relatively poor area of town away from the tourist areas, and the 'sister hotel' was a Courtyard by Marriott! There was no offer to adjust our hotel rate downward, despite the difference in location and hotel class. We cannot recommend anyone trust this hotel's reservation process.

Arrived too early to check in but hotel happy to hold our bags while we explored Budapest. When we returned to the hotel, we were greeted with a glass of champagne and had our room upgraded for our inconvenience. Our luggage was already in the room along with a complimentary bottle of local wine. Great room with balcony overlooking tree-lined, quiet street. Recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to be in the middle of a tourist area but have ready access to anywhere in Budapest.

Spent two nights here following a two week river cruise. Enjoyed the restrained elegence of this hotel. Conveniently located just off Andrassy Blvd., within walking distance of the park, Hero's Square, museums and cafes. Also adjacent to bus and Metro lines making it easy to travel to other Budapest sights. Hotel very clean and quiet. Excellent service and wireless internet.

This hotel was perfect for a relaxing, yet lively stay in Budapest. It's very close to the fine arts museum and the baths in City Park, situated in the midst of a lovely neighborhood right off the main thoroughfare of Andrassy Street. It's also within walking distance to the Opera House, which, in addition to the opera, is loaded with bars and fun cafes. The staff could not be nicer, and very helpful in organizing your stay in Budapest. Even better, the restaurant's one of the best in the city, and the barmen at the bar are very knowledgeable about Hungarian wines, and share their expertise with you as you enjoy the country's fabulous wines.

Very friendly staff. However, I would not call it 5 star hotel, due to lack of facilities. Breakfast is also quite expensive 20 Euros. Overall, located in a quite residential area, next to the Heroes Square. Tube stop is also round the corner and takes 10 min to Danube.
