I was pleasantly surprised to find the room to be a bit larger than expected, although, it smelled of cigarette smoke. The hotel was supposed to be renovated but the fixtures were very cheap and falling apart. The floor boards were coming apart. The tile in the bathroom was loose at the bottom of the shower and the sink was too big leaving no room for additional toiletries.

The room was very nicely decorated. It is very near the St Lazare metro and rail stations, so it was very convenient to get to different places. The room was very comfortable. Reception staff spoke reasonable English. There is a good boulangerie just across the street, so no there's need to partake of the breakfast which costs 17 Euros. There was a very convenient dispenser for drinking water in the room, and there were several power sockets throughout the room to charge up a laptop, a couple of cell phones, camera, handheld games console, all at the same time. It was good value for money considering the price we paid via [website]. It would have been far too expensive to pay the standard rate set by the hotel. Negatives - The "free" Wifi did not work on my laptop or any of my party members' cell phones. The door to our bathroom had warped and could not be shut properly. We could not find a supermarket nearby but maybe we didn't try hard enough.

Great location near the train station. Just one block and plenty of cafe's to eat at. Just don't expect to take a good shower. There is no shower curtain, just a piece of glass less than two feet wide at the far end of the tub. For a large man it makes the shower experience quite annoying. The bathroom gets quite wet in the process.
