great location..everything else just ok
beautiful location.. just across the street from the Louvre.. staff...friendly... hotel seems charming at first, but the room was a little disappointing... and we were supposedly upgraded to a suite.

Fabulous staff
Who says the French aren't friendly. The entire staff was fabulous! We talked to 3 concierge members, 4 front desk clerks, 2 bellman, and 1 cleaning lady, all were very helpful. Concierge Cathy worked very hard and got us a table @ Moulin Rouge Sat. Night! Our cleaning lady found me a wine bottle opener late one evening. The front desk arranged 200 euro withdrawal from our credit card sans fees. Wow! Louvre across the street. It doesn't get better for location and service.

Perfect Location
The hotel Regina is across the street from the Louvre and the Tuillerie Gardens. It is perfectly positioned for all tour buses to leave from. The rooms are large and comfortable. You have a great view in the distance of the Eiffel Tower, and this; especially at night is gorgeous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The windows open so you can hear the buzz of Paris all around you, if you like that. It is also near the Metro station, 1/2 block. I cannot wait to return. Matthew, Orlando, FL

Regina: I could write a book
Since you're not booking with the hotel directly, there's a disconnect between the hotel room you book on Orbitz and what you actually get. The Orbitz website must be much more specific about what is actually promised. When we arrived at our hotel and we were shown our room it was absolutely substandard by modern standards: double bed (not large enough for 2 adults, and we each weigh less than 150 lbs.), no dresser to store clothes (only a narrow closet), worn carpeting, bathroom that had a floor vent through which bad smells emitted. Room 138. We paid for a room upgrade after the 1st night. Also, there was a question about internet access, which I believed was gratis but which the hotel staff said was not.

There are a huge number of good restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk on the Rue St. Honore, one block from the hotel.

Great Views, great location
The Hotel Regina was quite charming. The room had a view of the Eiffel Tower and furnished very nicely. The hotel staff was very helpful and very friendly. We were able to get into our room upon check-in. (8 a.m.). The Louvre is across the street and within walking distance of other sites. Plus it is near two underground stations. A tour bus compamy is right next door so it was very convenient to use that for several things. I would definitely recommend the Regina.

The Musee d'Orsey is a short walk. Many cafe's and restaurants in the area and there is a lovely park across the street.

Beautiful Hotel
The Hotel Regina is a beautiful hotel. The hotel is lovely in a very old style European way. A word of caution - if you want American style amenities not the hotel for you. By that I mean high end health clubs. The property is perfect for someone wanting to feel what it is like to stay in a european property.

Everything you want to see in Paris is within a 20 minute walk. The hotel is across the street from the Louvre. You can see the Eiffle Tower from the rooms.
