Mercure Paris Stendhal Place Vendome

I had reserved a more spatious, queen size bed "privilige" (superior) room which turned out to be not so priviliged. The room was very dark with very little to no natural sunlight coming in: there are only two small windows and both of which have an opposing wall facing them not more than 5 meters away. The TV was nice and new with good channels but was positionned to the side of the bed (5 meters away) and not in front: so watching from the bed is not possible. These two things together would not have normally bothered me so much were it not for the bathroom. As soon as I entered the bathroom, I saw a bunch of hairs (some long ones from a ladies head and shorter ones of the other variety): you could find them on the door, on the bathroom wall next to the towels on the walls in the tub...just disgusting. I called to tell them about it: they said they would send a cleaning lady again, I told them not to bother that I would just remove the hairs myself, they insisted. We left the room and returned only to find the bathroom in the same state and a little apology note on the bed!

Great Hotel with friendly staff in a great location. Assisted us with all sorts of tourist information and were extremely friendly with excellent English speaking skills. Everything regarding reservation was noted and no additional charges or problems of any kind with our reservation. Only a few blocks from where the airport bus lets off. Breakfast was expensive at the hotel, but plenty of local Cafes to choose from as alternatives. We purchased an upgraded room and were glad we did. Room had a separate T.V. area with sofa and really opened up the space. The upgraded room also came with 4 free drinks per day, a portable extra heater and an in-room capaccino maker (all nice and unexpected surprises). Will definitely stay at this hotel again if we make it back to Paris and highly recommend it. No view from any of the rooms, but that is about all this hotel is missing. Also a very quiet location at night. Thanks

This is a boutique hotel with 20 rooms. It is about a three block walk tot he Opera metro station and in a great neighborhood. Lots of shops, restaurants, high end hotels, all were close by. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again. Kudos also to the staff person from Orbitz who worked with me on line to find a hotel that met all of my criteria. She was very patient and very thorough. This is a great service when you are traveling to a city that you don't know well and need some advice on where to stay.

La situación es excelente. El servicio amable, con buen nivel de inglés. La habitación era muy bonita con una cama grande y cómoda. El desayuno no lo probé. Volvería a alojarme en este hotel sin dudarlo.
