Hotel Residence Romance Malesherbes

Well where to start, the hotel rooms are quite small, not very clean, to the point that there was hair on the sheets when I pulled back the blankets, and a empty Coke bottle beside the bed remained there the entire stay. The bath is insanely small,to the point that if you drop the soap it is impossible to pick it up and the shower wouldn't drain properly,causing water to flow all over the tile floor evey time it was used. The hotel staff was friendly enough but their ability to speak English was limited, and while there we had to deal with cigarette smell from them smoking in the stair case. The thing that probably made me the angriest was the fact that they advertised a free continental breakfast that we tried one day and swore off of and upon checkout was charged 9 euro each for an over baked croissant and warm milk served in a small basement!Not at all as advertised and wouldn't recommend it.

This was a quaint hotel, tucked away from all of the tourist action. Our room did not accept key cards, so for our entire stay, we had to be escorted by the front desk person to our room every time we came back to the hotel and we had to explain this situation to a new front desk attendent every time, all of whom didn't seem to believe us. It is a decent walk to the nearest metro station. There is a mini kitchen which could be useful. The shower is the smallest I have seen. The facilities weren't great- for example the hairdryer broke and things were a bit run down, but it was a cute room and it worked for the budget minded.

The hotel experience was enjoyable for my family and I. Since we had never stayed in Paris, France before, we felt comfortable with the accomodations. The staff was helpful and very friendly, even though we did not speak French and they spoke very little English. Also liked the convenience of the hotel location to the Metro train system, Supermarket and various restaurants in the general vicinity.
