Holiday Inn PARIS - BASTILLE

We were pleasantly surprised, given the reviews we read here, at the modern, clean and comfortable room. The staff didn't slobber all over us, but they were friendly and helpful enough. The bathroom, along with the translucent wall that separates it from the outer room, was very stylish. There is a noisy and bustling street outside, with constant honking. It it is Paris, after all. The hotel and the room are a million times cleaner and more pleasant than the filthy and disgusting metro station one block away, and a very nice oasis to retreat to after enduring said filthy and disgusting metro station. Take a cab to this hotel if you can afford it. Take cabs everywhere in Paris if you can afford it.

The location was great. 1 block from the Metro. Only truely bad part of hotel is they were doing remodeling and a jackhammer was being used. Started at 9:00am impossible to sleep in and staff did not seem to care.

Location is ideal, next to busy metro/train station Gare de Lyon. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. The rates were modest. Overall, a great hotel find in Paris; one I would go back to on my return visits.

The Hotel was comfortable and the staff was generally accomodating. The bar was closed due to renovation. However the hotel is in a rather seedy section of Paris and has a "Sexy Shop" next to the front door along with a regular "working girl." I don't think I would have stayed there if I had known the location was so bad.

Overall, very clean, nice modern hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. However, hotel was under renovation and some amenities to include ice and room service were not available. In addition, found it odd that we had to specifically request an iron and leave a deposit while using it.

Wonderful experience, very friendly and helpful staff, great location between two metro stops. Easy access to everywhere.

no ice machine worded at all,asked for ice they said" bring a bag for some and we will give you some" sink blocked for 12 of 13 days,no hot water for shower 2 nights,hookers outside front door at night was approaced,main lights did not work sat night informed maint not availkable till Monday, no wash cloths in bathroom they do not provide,no ice bucket proveded, promised water in ref due to hotel remodeling given it only two dys out of 13,shampoo not refilled half the time,disposable glass,s not replaced daily, keys had to be replaced 3 times due to moving of front desk,construction, staff was great but management needs to have better policies & procedures in place.
