little things mean a lot
Clean as a whistle and the staff was excellent. However A/C did not properly function; one room card didn't work; batteries in TV remote dead; no room safe; noisey in the morning-housekeeping (if you went out the night before) Smithfield is better if you like an efficiency This is better if you like a pool/spa Nightlife Lounge...Lounge... really who are you trying to kid. Just a regular hotel 6-8 seat bar (again Staff EXCELLENT! Small problems, Yet I would definately consider them in the future

Monopole Pizza! It was THE bar in the late 70's and they still have the best wings & pizza (Plus ice cold beer) even though No one goes anymore New hot spot The Naked Turtle is RIGHT on Lake Champlain Beautiful views

Weekend with the grandchildren
Check in pleasant and informative. Large room and very clean. Family enjoyed the pool and restaurant. Staff pleasant and helpful. Good weekend with the family.

Good hotel, will visit again
Room was very roomy, king size bed was very comfortable. everything worked which is always good. the only downsize which wasnt a biggie was that the bathroom was a little tight. But other than that, we would use this hotel again and would recommend also.

Under reconstruction.
Hotel being remodeled. What's done is great. One small problem...bathroom door coming off its hinge. We called and it was fixed in no time.

Traveling Couple
Good Hotel Especially the Staff
We went to Plattsburgh for a house hunting trip. We were satisfied with the room and the very friendly staff. The shower was very strong which was great. The only thing we did not like was the continental breakfast which was very plain and uninteresting. We went once and never returned. We would stay there again. While the hotel is still going through renovations we never heard any noise.

Short walk from hotel
The Mangia restaurant close to the hotel was excellent. The portions were good and the service was good as well. I had chicken tortellini and my husband had clams and linguini. We plan to go back once we move there permenantly. Starbucks is less than a mile down Route 3 though the service there is not very good. Better coffee than what is offered at the hotel.

A Few Days Away......
Our daughter attends SUNY at Plattsburgh. The Holiday Inn is close and a nice choice. There is minor construction ongoing at the hotel, but didn't interfere with our visit. The housekeeping staff and front desk staff is absolutely awesome. One note - several families checked in on Friday (we had stayed two previous nights) and their kids ran all over the place. They used the fitness room and pretty much trashed it. The remote control to one of the TVs was missing on Sat. morning, and there was trash everywhere. The pool area was being cleaned after they had trashed that. I'm just wondering if it would help if extra staff was put on to be more visible during Friday and Sat. night "family" stays. Other than that - I highly recommend the Holiday Inn at Plattsburgh and will definitely stay again.
