Graduation celebration
I couldn't have been happier with this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating and made my stay most enjoyable. When my daughter walked throu the lobby in her graduation gown (Columbia University), the applauded and congratulated her.

Aloft Harlem
I stayed in Aloft Harlem for one night. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was cool. It's a little pricey, but so is everything else in New York City.

No good location
I thought was nice place because it is close to Columbia University. But we did not like the area.

Great Hotel - Wonderful Staff
The Aloft Harlem was a GREAT Hotel. All of the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. Wasn't sure about staying in far away Harlem (from Times Square), but the subway stop is just 2 short blocks away from the Hotel and the D line skips most of the stops till you get to the attractions such as Rockefeller Center, Macy's, etc. Nice bar, ReCharge zone and good value. Would definitely stay here again!

I was pleasantly surprised by
I was pleasantly surprised by the Aloft Harlem - for New York City it is a very reasonably priced, fantastic hotel with wonderful staff. My room wasn't huge but you didn't notice it because it was very well laid out and comfortable with free WiFi which was great! I found that the Harlem area where the hotel is located is quite safe and well located, with the subway only 2 minutes walk away and 15 minutes to Times Square. I was there at the start of Hurricane Irene when the MTA was shut down, and the staff helped me by suggesting what to do and how to get to my next accommodation. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Good deal to take in Harlem, NYC
My wife and I took in a weekend show on Broadway and decided to stay at Harlem this time, just to see what the place was all about. It was a very short visit but we enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel, small room but very modern and decent use of space. The staff was extremely helpful. They obviously are wooing a younger, hip crowd but the guests we noticed were a very ecletic mix, very cool.

Short walk from hotel
Lots of local restaurants, Mannas, a soul food/American buffet type, should be outlawed with the food, salads, and fruit available, along with its incredible freshness and very reasonable prices.

Reasonable room rate in Manhattan
Although the room is not big, but there's a very nice king bed. The room space (including the bathroom area) is used very efficiently. There's a "big" and nice shower at the bathroom. We were in New York just for the transit. We have arrived very late. The staffs are very helpful.
