BEST WESTERN Raleigh North-Downtown

This hotel provided me with exactly what I needed. It also had an included breakfast available which I took advantage of each day of my stay.

THE STAFF WAS HELPFUL. SINCE WE WERE STAYING WITH KIDS WE HAVE SEVERAL REQUEST. THEY JUST DID FANTASTIC. THE LOCATION IS NEAR EVERYTHING AND STILL IT WASN'T NOISY AT ALL.

The room was very dirty and had spiderwebs on the walls in the corners and all over the drapes. I killed 4 spiders along the walls. There were dead centipeads all over the floor of the room and some sort of mystery powdery stuff all over the carpet. There were ants in the room and on the beds. The bathroom had cracked tiles all over the shower and the drain would not stay up to drain the water. The only light was a teeny light above the sink so you basically showered in the dark while water filled up around you. The pool was so gross my kids even refused to swim in it! The bottom had a gross film on it and had not been cleaned as there was all sorts of debris at the bottom. The worst was the centipeads, there were dead ones all over the bottom and floating in the water. There were also live ones EVERYWHERE, in the water, on the edges, on the walkways. Very dirty unkept place I would not recommend to anyone! I always stay at hotels within this price range and have never been unhappy or taken the time to write a bad review for one but this place was just gross.

Great stay, clean rooms and friendly staff. Thats the most important to me.

I hated it so much that if I hadn't pre-paid, I would have gone elsewhere.

There was only one problem. Instead of booking online I called in to check on 2 important factors. 1 was that the hotel was pet friendly and it was. 2 was the the suite had a king size bed and a double bed because we had 4 people. Well we got their and the sofa couch had been disassembled and they had to give us a cot that was not that great. The hotel said that they had asked that the option of a king and double suite to be taken off of their website because it was no more. They did not have anymore rooms to move us to because they were full. [...]

No maintenant staff at night when requested

I was given a smoking room and told there were no non-smoking (even though I had requested non-smoking), there were two dogs barking in the room next door and the TV did not work.

I checked in late after a long hard day, and found that the lobby is locked after (I think) 10 PM. I had to go up to a small window outside the building which made me wonder if this hotel is in such a dangerous location that they have to secure the property at night. The service seemed fine, the room was clean and comfortable.
