Venezia Hotel

No hotel name on outside of bldg. Drove around wasting time looking; finally saw a small, faded # on bldg. Dirty,smelly lobby, old, shabby. Desk clerk had head down all the time playing on her iphone. It is a shell of its former Art Deco hotel - a pity that it has not been taken care of. Room: A/C partially working; 1 bedstand lite; 2 beds w/only white sheets & pillows; no blankets nor comforter. One bed had black soot pieces all over. Window blinds broken; no locks on windows. Indent in wall with bar, but no hangers for clothes. 1 bath towel, no hand towel nor washcloth. TV did not work well. New shower - nice, but no pressure. All white rooms & hallways. I went to the Miami Beach Convention Ctr. for a show. Hotel, not really! This place badly needs owners that care to make it into a nice hotel w/English speaking help.

The room was not how I reserved it on the travel website, but I got an extra bed in my room so I didn't complain. No hotel parking available, rooms were barebones. Great hotel if you're only there to sleep

FACTORING IN THAT THE VENEZIA IS NOT ON SOUTH BEACH, ONE MERELY HAS TO WALK 2 BLOCKS EAST TO COLLINS AVENUE WHERE COMPARABLE HOTEL ROOMS ARE GOING FOR $ 175 TO 250! I TRAVEL EXTENSIVELY AND THIS OPERATION DESERVES A THREE STAR RATING. I WOULD HAVE NO MISGIVINGS ABOUT RECOMMENDING THE VENEZIA TO ANY OF MY COST-CONSCIOUS FRIENDS.

never, never, never again!!! never!!! better pay $15 more will get save on commute and food! Never ever go in this hostel its not hotel !

It took a few minutes to find this place because there is no sign outside. :( That doesn't scream quality at all. The elevator seemed like it could collapse at any minute and there was no unmetered parking available. Had to wake up before 8am to put quarters in. Overall, the room was decent. I liked the floors and bathroom was ok. This hotel is really old and the tv was fuzzy.

They could have done a better service, but it's worth for the money.

I was shocked and quite depressed upon entering my room. I wasn't expecting anything special based on the reviews I had read, neither was I expecting something this bad. The whole place is terribly run down and in need of major renovation. The carpets are disgusting and dirty and I would advise wearing footwear at all times. The beds are clean but mattresses very old and poorly sprung. If it weren't for the welcome I received upon check-in I would have checked out immediately. Sadly I never saw the person who checked me in again and the rest of the reception staff were very curt and unfriendly. The best thing about this place is the terrace looking out to the waterway, where it's nice to sit and unwind, but even this area is extremely shabby. Strangely, I would return to this place because it's a comfortable distance form all the craziness of South Beach, yet easy to get to all the action if you seek that. It's remarkably cheap and close to the beach. I was on a tight budget and this place suited my needs for 4 nights. Maybe it's because the room I was assigned had 3 double beds in it and I was travelling alone. Breakfast is virtually non-existent, with cereal, stale bagels and the worst coffee I ever tasted.

it was bad. I had read the reviews on this hotel of course, and knew what to expect, but I guess a little part of me hoped "it can't be that bad". well, it could. Everything was damp, the rooms smelled bad, and although clean in appearance the beds really grossed me out, the blinds were half ripped to pieces. I supposed "historic" in the description was a euphemism for "really old and not maintained". However, the lady at the checkin desk was quite nice and helpful.

Stayed for 3 nights and they never did the cleaning, shower was leaking, a/c unit too small for room, unfriendly staff, stay away from this hotel if you can...

great location. dirty looking from outside. door to room hard to lock. no drinking water available that day because of water dept flushing system. Hotel should have provided drinking water for the day. poor breakfast.
