Venezia Hotel

Only the price is good....

ALthough the location was great a block away from the beach and rest. Hotel itself smelled very musty and the rooms were very prison like, but you get what you pay for i guess the price was pretty good

The worst hotel in my life.

For the time I was in the hotel, the hot water was limited, the walls wore not appealing, their was construction literally inches away. Meaning a lot of noise and dust. Besides that, it was just a place to sleep and keep going.

Good location and cheap. Very light and noisy sleep.

Will recommend it only to be used as dormitory.

This hotel was laughably bad. Fortunately, my friends and I had low expectations to begin with. We were college students on spring break looking for somewhere to sleep and shower that was close to the beach. The Venezia really doesn't offer much more than that.

It was nice and quite,big room with three queen size beds (comfortable). It was a 5min drive to the center of south beach (ocean dr).Rent a car and you'll be fine(no parking, so bring all your lose change and park in garages during the day and in the street after 6 pm it was free). The hotel staff was not very friendly but they are healpfuale. It's a cheap hotel but worth it for the beaches, the nightlife, the food, the scenary, and the people.

i had hoped it would be better than what i had seen in the photos. There was flaking paint coming off the ceilings ,it's good for kids who don't have a lot of money to stay but if you have a family of just a person with a taste for quality this is not the place

For the price, the Venezia was fine and suited my needs but other travelers should know what they are getting into before staying here. The location is great especially if you plan on visiting spots in both the north and south sides of the island because it's smack dab in the middle. It's two blocks from the beach and boardwalk and is directly across the street from the venice-like canal (hence the name). You can get to all the good spots in South Beach via the boardwalk that is nearby and the hotel is right on the bus route which I took to Haulover everyday. The only thing about the location that sucks is that there is currently a LOT of construction on Indian Creek Dr which results in noisy equipment and people honking at each other right out side the building. It woke me up early every day that I stayed there but that's not the hotel's fault. The building itself is rather run down. Stains on the carpet. Smells a little musty. Oddly enough there were real marble floors in the bathroom. Only about 6 or 7 channels on the tv even though it was cable. Phone with voice mail in each room which I was really happy about since my cricKet phone doesn't work in Florida. It's just a strange place but it's a place to sleep for cheap. The staff is not very polite unless you go out of your way to be polite first, which I did and so they were very nice to me but I noticed other guests having conflicts with the staff especially when communication became strained(most of the staff has limited English skills INCLUDING the front desk-not uncommon for Miami Beach). You don't need to know Spanish but you should be patient and polite if you want to get along well with them. Overall, I would stay at the Venezia again because even though it was kind of shabby, it felt safe and the price was right. This is definitely a place for the budget traveler who is not expecting to spend much time at their hotel.
