Great getaway
Enjoyed staying at this hotel. Great continental breakfast. Bar, pool, lounging area, beach, staff - all wonderful! Beds comfortable. Just wished they provided microwave/frig in rooms. Room itself was on the small size and was just a little noisy (thin walls). Great location for shopping,entertainment and MIA.

Depending on your tastes, a variety of foods are available within short walking distance, fine dining or small cafes. I personally liked Sultans, a mediterranean cafe.

Beautiful hotel but....
Beautiful hotel with clean rooms;direct access to the beach, very close to Ocean drive and lincoln Rd... Unfortunately spoilt by a 24h bar across Collins Av playing loud music almost all night long (windows not soundproof, bathroom window not shutting tight), somewhat careless staff (front desk staff very laid back, housekeeping staff never saying good morning, valet parking staff nice but sloppy). Breakfast was far below standards. Such a pity that the service is not up to the price!

No frills but nice and great location
The South Seas Hotel is a great place to stay. We found the hotel room was a little small, but it was clean and quiet. We liked the hotel's pool and hammock area, and beach access was convenient. The hotel is located in a quieter area of South Beach than we had previously stayed, and we found it a lot nicer because of that. Overall, a good experience.

Not too good
Unfriendly staff, not very helpful. Smelly room with terrible view. Only good thing about this place is a great location.

Mixed blessings.
The South Seas is a rehabbed older hotel with small, albeit nicely furnished rooms and really small, but very functional bathrooms. Overnight stay comes with a breakfast buffet including various breads and cereals as well as cold hard-boiled eggs, ham and cheese. The hotel's free WiFi connection was disappointingly slow, especially in the evenings and clearly needs to be upgraded.

"Amazing Trip"
Did some shopping, swam in the sea and went to Aventura Mall. Shops are pretty close to the hotel.

Prime One Twelve. (Best Restaurant in Miami). Known for its good quality food and awesome reputation, don't be surprised if you crushed into celebrities on your way into the restaurant.

Great hotel and service.
Excellent location and close to the shops and good restaurants. Lots to do in South Miami Beach. If you like great shopping, entertainment and great beaches then this is the place to be. We had a fantastic time!!

Great Location but smaller than expected
I went for a girls weekend and loved the location of the hotel (close enough to the action but far enough away that is was quiet and relaxing). We hung out by the pool during the day and went out at night to experience all south beach had to offer. We had a great time but the hotel was smaller than expected and not so art deco. They would have been better off with an antique type theme with their old time photos and original fixtures on doors and such. Rooms were adaquate but again nothing to write home about.

great location, friendly staff. QUIET
Right on the beach. Great location AND quiet. The only drawback was the "fitness center," which consisted of a treadmill, old beat up stationary bicycle and small hand weights tucked behind the pool with no AC. Great, friendly staff. Clean rooms. Apple Ipod radio great!
