Doral Golf Resort & Spa, A Marriott Resort

Hotel was very nice, grounds were beautiful. The staff very friendly. The Hotel was a little dated, however are understanding the Hotel is slated for a major remodel later this year. Will stay again if they stay affortable.

We stayed at the Doral while attending the Sony-Erickson Tennis tournament in Key Biscayne. Much better than staying on Miami Beach, or , Coconut Grove and the price was very reasonable.

And that is just what Donald Trump plans to do. He bought this property and is going to give it a $20 million dollar face-lift. The main pool had out-dated, somewhat-dirty lounge chairs and one of the towels the attendant gave me had a huge tear. The food-bar service closed at 4pm.

Just finished a stay for a business function at Doral. I have stayed here before over the years and my opinion is that the management of this place has noticeably deteriorated. First, I must say in general I hate going to business functions at resorts. This stay highlights the many reasons. At one point staying at Doral meant something. Now, its just a very average marriott hotel property geared at vacationers (spa goers and golfers). I did not enjoy my stay. Let me recount the ways: 1) rooms not ready until after 4pm; 2) things spread out; 3) hosted a cocktail reception and the waitress double charged me for the tip; 4) no call back from the manager after 3 attempts to reach him (in a meeting - for four hours??); 5) no bill under the door (a deal breaker for me); 6) spent 15 minutes in check-out line and finally gave up (single desk employee busy talking vacation planning with a guest while 6 of us waited in line; 7) called to get a bill emailed 2 times the same day but it never came; 8) called three days later and the lady told me she could not help - her quote "not sure why they told you they would send you a bill as we are not empowered to do so". Also told me "it takes 5 business days to get an email. You need to get a copy from Marriott business services which is open during normal business hours". So in conclusion, if you are looking for a class place, keep looking. If you get some cut rate golf deal, it might be worth it but recognize what you are getting - Doral by Courtyard.

Great quiet location away from Miami's tourist and high rise heaven on the beach. They were wonderful and they upgraded me to a spa suite just for signing up to look at their reward program. It was not very busy the weekend before the Cadillac tournament so they were anxious to give out good services and prices. I was very impressed with the bell staff and the 19th hole bar and grill were great as always. The only negative was that it took a long time to get hot water in the shower and the ice machine is a long walk. I would have liked a microwave in the suite, but I did ok without it for one night.

Doral Resort is a high profile golf resort with world famous golf courses, which are excellent and very challenging, if very costly. The accommodations were very dated. Guest rooms were very small with tiny bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable. Had problems with amenities. First room assigned was next to elevator and very noisy - requested a new room and it took 1 hour to get a new key. Building had only one elevator for 4 floors and it was inoperable for one day and would stop on the lobby floor without going to the under floor first. Key card to self parking did not work at 6:00 a.m.- very inconvenient.

Not so special, room very average type. Room far from Lobby. Parking: far from the room.

Great value, clean room. Good service. And I didn't even play golf!!
