Compostela Hotel Santiago de Compostela

Staff is friendly, helpful and speaks good english. Location is central. Breakfast good. Wifi in rooms slow but if you go near elevator it is stronger. If requested, you can check out late like we did at 2 PM and left our luggages inside hotel room. Will book again next year.

I spent 8 nights at the Hotel Compostela and had a great experience overall. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My only negative comments were the weak wifi signal, I had to stay close to the elevator to be check email. The breakfast was awesome! I definitely recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Santiago de Compostella was centrally located-- an easy walk from the famous Cathedral. While the outside of the building is historical, the interior is quite modern and done with great taste-- not chilly and characterless like many modern hotels. The room was attractive and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The front desk staff had excellent command of the English language, which was helpful since our Spanish is limited to the most basic. There were many restaurants, bars and cafes within easy walking distance from the hotel, shops too. Despite chilly rain throughout our brief visit, we found Santiago de Compostella charming and well worth visiting. The hotel enhanced this impression. WIFI was free and available in our room once we obtained the password from the front desk.

The staff at this hotel was among the friendliest and most competent that we encountered on our 15 hotel trip. The location was also excellent -- just across the street from the Old Town and a short 5 minute walk to the Cathedral. One note of caution: Some people have said that the hotel is "only a 10 minute walk from the train station" -- (maybe if you're 25 years old and without any luggage!) The truth is, if you are walking from the train station, you need to navigate about 50 steps just to get out of the station parking lot, and then trek uphill for fifteen minutes. It's not a long hike, but it's a tough one. If you are dragging luggage, take a cab!!

This is a great hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is newly refurbished, and just a few steps from the action in the old quarter of the town. Staff very good. Public parking opposite the hotel. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in a great location right in the heart of the city, between the new and old towns. The town is small so you can walk everywhere. The service was great - the reception staff tried to help out where they could with directions etc. The hotel was renovated in Jan 2009 so everything is very modern and clean. The buffet breakfast was included in our price, it had lots on offer and was a good standard. I would recommend this highly.
