The merry Marriott
Location was friendly, with easy access to the subway. Accomodations were very good, except that the air conditioning was not to the level of my expectation especially during the recent heat wave.

First Trip To Munich
We did a thorough search for a hotel that would have good access to all points in Munich and would be in a quite area. The Marriott Munich more that met this requirement. Six subway stops to Marinplatz where you start your downtown area visit or hook up to other parts of the city. We concentrated on sites of our interest both in and out of town. The map provided at the Mariott has all of them. We got a 3 day familyt train ticket for 32 eruo, which was a super deal. We did a day trip out to Dachu-a must see. THis does require another train ticket, as it is outside the 4 rings for the special ticket. We did see four people get tagged for not having this additional ticket - a 20 euro fine each. The fine is much higher on the trains. Don't miss a walk through the Englsh Garden and seeing the evening activity at the Chinese Tower beer garden. We selected 3 different restaurants for out three nights there. The Marriott provided a very nice starting point each day. Staff was very helpful in recommending things and ways to get around. Breakfast was quite expensive (30 eros), so we did not partake. Way too many fine delis and bakeries in Munich to set down to the Marriot breakfast

We would recommend the Haufbrauhouse for a band and loud crowd atmosphere, the Ratskeller for a quite evening, and the Augustine Keller beer garden for the outdoor experience. Different beers served by each.

Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel in a great area! One block to the train (Nordfriedhof station) and a grocery store, delicious bakery, Apotheke right around the hotel! Highly recommend (and get the 3 day visitor pass for the train)! Champions restaurant is great when you've eaten all of the German food you can stand and want a good old cheeseburger and fries!

My review of Munich Marriott Hotel
The Munich Marriott is a typical Marriott with comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay here and it was perfect for a young couple such as ourselves. The hotel is near a U Bahn stop which makes it perfect for getting around the city with ease. We would stay here again.

Good American feeling hotel
The Marriott Munich is for Americans who wish to be in a foreign country but have an American type hotel...large rooms, English-speaking staff, English newpapers. Yet, this hotel attracts guests from all over so the clientel is not just Americans. Convenient location with an underground stop within walking distance. I did feel it attracted more business customers than tourists. Would definitely stay again.

We were not at the hotel long enough to sample the local restaurants because we took the underground to Oktorberfest; but the staff at the hotel told us there were several restaurants nearby. It is located in a neighborhood rather than a totally commercial area.
